I remember four years ago when John Kerry called Lambeau Field "Lambert Field" on a stop in Wisconsin. He won Wisconsin by the skin of his teeth.

1. American football fans prefer Obama
In a closely watched poll, Americans said by a slim margin that they would prefer Barack Obama over John McCain to kick back with in their living rooms to watch the football game.

Obama came out on top by 50-47% in the Associated Press-Yahoo poll. That roughly mirrors the tight race in national polls.

2. OK, I'm sure that...
Kerry's performance in WI was directly related to his comment about Lambeau Field. :sarcasm:

4. I heard Kerry speak
when he came to Wisconsin. Hundreds upon hundreds of people waited for hours, in the rain to listen to him. Your comment is absurd.

Senator Obama has his work cut out for him. Wisconsin is just too iffy either way. It's going to take a lot of work to get Wisconsin.

And as an aside - saw two McCain lawn signs on my way to work. Was soooo tempted to rip them out of the lawns.

7. Take it easy
I was kidding around.

Having said that, ARG polled Wisconsin today and has Obama up 5.

9. Oh no, I didn't mean any
negativism about your comment. I hadn't heard that one about Lambeau/Lambert.

Glad to hear that Senator Obama is up five. Thanks for the update. It's encouraging.

5. Does Obama even like football? I hear him talk about basketball a lot
but I realized last night (don't know why it popped into my head) that I've never heard him really discourse much on the subject of football. Of course, given the schools he attended, football might not really have been a huge deal at any of them. Does Occidental, e.g., even HAVE a football team? I've never heard Obama mention football, or baseball, for that matter. Just basketball, and I know his B-I-L is coach of Oregon State.

8. I think they'll let it slide.
If he were a Vikings fan, that might be a whole other matter.
