Postcards for Obama. Here's mine...
My whole group of graphic designer friends and I were invited to design postcards which will be printed and sent to swing state voters. A printer friend of mine is donating paper and printing to the cause.

Below is the text of my card (which I laid out very graphic designer-y). What do you all think?

FRONT OF CARD:

HELLO! MAY I ask you a question?

When you picture the President of the United States, do you ever imagine him (or her) checking under the hood of your car, or fixing your leaky faucet? Probably not, but maybe you should. Because, after all, isn’t the President pretty much the ultimate service professional?

Now think about what you do when you need to hire a service professional. You want an expert who is honest, fair, and hard-working. So you ask your friends and neighbors for recommendations, right? You may even check the internet for more information.

Okay, so, since we’re neighbors (what’s a couple states between friends?), I’m going to give you a great recommendation as you get ready to choose the next president: my senator, Barack Obama.

Barack Obama?! Yes! Now hear me out…

Barack Obama is passionate about our country, its laws and its Constitution. What a refreshing CHANGE from the politicians who either don’t know the laws or just plain ignore them! Barack Obama is also very hard-working. With his skills and his education, he could’ve taken any number of very cushy, very high-paying jobs. But he chose to work for fellow Americans in his community, in his state, and in the entire nation. You should check out his resume at www.barackobama.com/learn/meet_barack.php.

I’m voting for Barack Obama because I know he will serve ALL the American people with dedication, fairness, and intelligence. Why? Because that’s what he’s been doing for years. I hope you will join me on November 4th and vote for Barack Obama. We can turn this country around! YES WE CAN!

BACK OF CARD:

I am a graphic designer in Chicago, Illinois. I am the daughter of a veteran, wife of a great guy, a sister, an aunt, and friend of a whole bunch of nice people. In other words, I’m a regular American, just like you. I’m not powerful or politically connected. I just love my country and want to see some smart, honest people in charge. So I’m using my graphic design skills to reach out to fellow Americans. I hope you’ll join me in making history. I hope you’ll vote for Barack Obama on November 4th.

Sincerely,
grace0418

2. Thanks! If I could get to photobucket at work I would post the image of the card.
I think it's pretty spiffy. :)
