(McSame) "he scares me. I think he's too old to be President"
...overheard while transporting a 72 year old white woman to chemo therapy from her nursing home in my rig today.

"I'm voting for that Obama fella" she said when she heard the local radio news commentator speaking about Obama coming to Jax tomorrow.

I had to keep from swerving off the road with laughter when she said it. I didnt even realize she could hear the radio.

11. I wish my G'ma was here too, she'd love him! She lived in Iowa and loved messing with the Repugs.
When everyone descended on Iowa for the elections, she loved it when the media assumed she'd be pro-repub because she was old. But oh my she was a hardcore Dem. Thought Bill Clinton and Gore were adorable, and would have loved Obama.

14. Mine too!!!
I remember her new Pastor came to her house to visit...she had a painting of FDR in her front room and the Pastor made a comment, "Oh, Mrs. Wood...I see where your politics lie." She says, "Yes, and what party do you follow?" Pastor: "Oh, I better not say..." Nanny's response, "Well, Pastor, if your ASHAMED of talking about your party, then maybe you better CHANGE it."

I was a kid when that happened...and I got what she was saying!!! I would love to have seen who she and my Poppy would have chosen btwn Hillary and Obama...only b/c of their generation and having been raised in the south...woman versus African American...what I wouldnt give to have a conversation with them now!!! : )

3. That's just wonderful!
A lot of seniors are really smart and wise, and have a sense of history.

8. My 87yo mother is for Obama...
She calls him "Baracko" because she can't remember where his first name ends and his last name starts.

10. I'd love to see how the people who lived thru the Depression are voting.
The assumption is that older people would vote their prejudices, but I suspect that they remember Hoover!

13. Gives me hope...My parents, 76 & 70 yrs. old are life long Democrats....
My Dad said he'd rather go to an early grave than vote for a Republican. They live in Florida and are heavily involved in signing up seniors to vote, for Obama of course!
