*****Debbie Wasermann Schultz appreciation thread******
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 01:22 PM by RMP2008
Have you noticed just how incredibly AWESOME she has been for Senator Obama since he wrapped up the primaries? Sat right behind him in Coral Gables, FL today eagerly supporting the nominee. I didn't watch much of her earlier in the year, but from what I read on here, she was a strong supporter of Senator Clinton and vocal about it. Since the primaries ended, however, she has been amazing. She praised Senator Biden to the heavens on the day that he was announced. She is on TV consistently fighting for the good guys and she seems to be doing her part to help Senator Obama carry Florida!

We hear so much negativity that is left over from the primaries but Congresswoman Schultz is a shining example of party unity and I just wanted to thank her for what's she done. She's wowed me for months now and I just appreciate all that she's done.

And now I'm positively in love with her.

I was frustrated by some of the things she said during the primary but I think she has completely redeemed herself and exceeded expectations. She is setting a great example for other Democrats.

30. I remembered one of the pundits asking her about this. She said after the primary, she
quickly propelled through the 5 stages of grief when Hillary lost, and then regained her footing and is fighting vigorously for the future of our country. I love when she talks about family and interspersing it with foreign policy talk. She's smart, savvy, and talks fast (a real ex-New Yorker!).

26. I appreciate what she's doing to support Obama...
I just wish that extended to supporting local Democrats down-ticket as well.

Ask Annette Taddeo if she's a "shining example of party unity." Ask Raul Martinez. Ask Joe Garcia. These are Democrats running for three Republican congressional seats in South Florida that we can win, and her refusal to support them is infuriating to a lot of us who live in these districts.

Sorry to piss on the appreciation thread, but there's a very real reason we're upset with her, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with who she supported in the primaries.

That being said, I'm glad she's helping Obama. She's been great for him so far and I can thank her for that while still disagreeing with her position on other Dem campaigns.

31. She has a lot to make up for, and I don't mean supporting Hillary.
She runs unopposed and is on the judiciary committee. She has caved in on all the repressive Bush legislation. She hasn't opposed Republicans in Miami, Ros-Lehtinen and the Diaz-Balart brothers. She blocked distribution of party funds to Annette Taddeo, who opposes Ros-Lehtinen (who, as you all know, is a real piece of work.)

I live in her district, and she has resisted all impeachment moves, saying her constituents are not interested in impeachment. I know that's not true. Wexler's district starts a few blocks north of me, and he says his constituents are in favor of impeachment. There can't be that much difference.

I really liked her during the Terry Schiavo controversies, but since then, she has been terrible. Sure she will help Obama, but I think she's looking at the Senate.

54. She's awesome.....
a real fighter and just what we need to battle against the media training that Repub-bots all get.
Conservative panelists always interrupt and shake their heads and make sour puss faces while our side is tallking. While childish, it's effective.
I think I saw Deb last night on Larry Kind (or the night before) and she was excellent in doing the same.
If Florida starts really turning for Obama, we can thank her for all of her hard work.
And she is also an excellent reminder that primaries are primaries and all should be forgiven and forgotton when the general rolls around.
