I live in a VERY republican area. Today I overheard two white dudes (about 60 and 80) talking
about the buyout of AIG. This was in the hardware store. The younger guy was a clerk, and the older guy was a customer.

To paraphrase:

"Where do we get the money for this?"

"The government. It's your money and my money."

"This is SO out of control. The dollar is going to be worthless."

"Everything's spiraling out of control. Debt, the economy... everything except wages."

"Well, wages for MOST of us."

"I think we should just take ALL the politicians out and shoot them, then start over."

Then they both laughed.

This is McCain's CORE demographic, and they're PISSED about the economy.

1. But do you think they will vote for Obama? So many people
are feeling economic pain but still don't trust a Dem because they've been brainwashed with the 'higher taxes' meme.

4. This is true. A friend told me today she got a computerized call from McPain's
campaign extolling the horrors of Obama's tax INCREASES on the middle class. She said she wanted to hang up immediately but forced herself to listen to the whole thing so she could find out who was responsible. "I'm John Mc* and I approve this message."

We're in Ohio, natch. How many hundreds of thousands of those calls are they making....

The man is a filthy, lying piece of shit.

7. I don't think they're voting for Obama
but they might stay home.

3. Why don't they blame a lazy electorate?
For years, Americans have not been paying decent enough attention to what's going on. I get tired, for example, of Europeans I know asking me "how could you elect George Bush?" and not having much of an answer past lack of turnout, or lack of interest in politics. In fact, the majority of people I know don't pay attention to politics. So it's a little ironic to suddenly blame the politicians. This has all been going on in plain sight since Reagan.

Note: I am not advocating shooting members of the lazy electorate.

5. We don't need more votes for Obama. We just need these people to stay home.
And that's looking more and more likely every day this economy slips.

Right from the beginning, I knew that the typical white middle american wouldn't go out to vote for a loser. They don't know anything about the election or the economy or anything: They just know they always identify with the winners.

They're not going to drive the pickup truck to the polls to vote for a loser.

And they're really really not going to vote if a BLACK MAN is going to win.

They're staying home, people.

That's why the polls are really skewed: Polls cannot possibly know who's staying home.

6. I live in Kansas City and I drive through Prairie Village and
Leawood, KS on my way to work everyday. These must be two of the most conservative, upscale municipalities in the area, and yet I see literally dozens of Obama yard signs along my way.

Do you know how many McCain yard signs I've seen? ONE! The sign was in the middle of the yard last Friday, and when I drove through the neighborhood on Monday the sign had been moved under a tree where it was partially hidden by tall grasses that surrounded the bottom of the tree.

If the race is as close as the polls say (And I don't believe the polls at all) then there are a lot of McSame supporters who are too embarrassed to say so........
