CNN BREAKING: PALIN'S YAHOO EMAIL ACCOUNT COMPRIMISED
Wolf was just discussing this.. if anyone thought it was a rumor - it no longer is. The McCain camp is handing it over to top authorities.

Does anyone have info on what's IN those emails?

21. the repubs did this to kill the thoughts of her using that email to hide info
a .gov email account can be retrieved in investigations while a yahoo email account really is removed from the open domain and you can say things in secret with a private account. that is the benefit for using a private account for govenrment business you wanna keep a secret.

people thought sarah was hiding things with this yahoo account, so republicans release it to kill those claims

i find it hard to believe her account had no incriminating evidence in it, or the hacker who hacked it didnt click every email and save/screenshot everything

its obvious what happened

1) someone in the mccain campaign got this idea and told sarah about it and sarah agreed

2) someone in campaign gets password from sarah, he logs onto the account and deletes all incriminating emails

3) empty trash

4) leak account, screenshot a couple dumb emails and cute pics of baby

5) delete account

6) give the republicans more "poor sarah is being attacked" propaganda to sprout

and nauseating emails from friends and colleagues. It plays right into the persona the GOP is creating for Palin.

27. Wrong. This is the account she was using to conduct state business on
with a personal email address. The idiot who got into it was just not smart enough not to go screaming about it. He should have kept it to himself and then collected the damaging emails, then possibly hand them over to the investigators.

41. I agree. It's a set-up...
...designed to give her sympathy over being mistreated by Those Big Mean Democrats.

Would you like strangers staring at your e-mail, or making it public? Neither would anybody -- which is why the Repugs are going to make as much about this as possible, and seek to blame us (and, by "us," I mean Democrats active online, members of DU and DailyKos, etc., etc.) for it.

Sarahbou's star is fading fast. Don't let them use this as a ploy to restore her popularity.

39. It has no importance to us...
So, some cyberpranksters hacked her account. Big whoop. :boring:

The fact is, there's enough out there in broad daylight to discredit Mooseolini, and her plummeting approval numbers are the proof.

Don't let this build into something that can gain her sympathy. I don't want people looking at Sarahbou's e-mails, just as I don't want a Republican-led government looking at my emails.

The less about this whole thing, the better.

43. McCorkell, reached at her office, confirmed that she did send the e-mail to Palin.
McCorkell, reached at her office, confirmed that she did send the e-mail to Palin. McCorkell later called and said the FBI has been in touch with her about this investigation.

An index of the e-mails in her inbox, which includes sender, subject line and date sent, indicates that Palin received numerous e-mails from her aides in the governor's office, some of which could be work-related.

An e-mail from her press secretary, Meghan Stapleton, indicates the message is about the "Motor Fuel Tax Suspension".

The subject line of an e-mail from Randall Ruaro, her deputy chief of staff reads, "Draft letter to Governor Schwarzenegger." Another one from Ruaro says, "Please approve" and another one is about "Court of Appeals Nominations."

Other e-mails from Ruaro indicate they're about employee and budget issues for the DPS. DPS is how Alaska refers to its Department of Public Safety.

Palin's chief of staff, Michael Nizich, sent her an e-mail August 22 with the subject line, "Using Royalty Oil to Lower the Cost of Fuel for Alaskans." The subject line of another e-mail from Nizich reads "CONFIDENTIAL Ethics Matter."

E-mails from the governor's scheduler, Janice Mason, indicate that they're about Palin's schedule for the week of August 10.

WikiLeaks said in a press release sent to reporters that Anonymous gained access to Palin's e-mail account around midnight Tuesday.

(Updated with reactions from the McCain campaign and the FBI, as well as new information about e-mails that indicate Palin used the account for official government work.)
