You can only have so many mavericks in your administration!
So McCain and Palin are running as a "maverick" ticket that will shake up Washington. What does that mean if they are elected? Two supposed "mavericks" at the top...but then what?

Will McCain appoint a "maverick" to be Secretary of State? What about a "maverick" Secretary of Defense?

Trying to "maverick" everything up can only lead to two outcomes:

1.) McCain won't be able to control his own administration, or
2.) McCain will fail to live up to the maverick image, and appoint hardline run-of-the-mill Conservative Republicans to his cabinet positions.

Has anyone mentioned this? He's running as a "maverick," but what happens to that bravado on January 21?

The original Mavericks meant A.D.D., or undisciplined to me. But I figured the old numb brains voting think maverick as in the Western movie sense. Romantic but isn't there a more effective personality type than a maverick as President? How 'bout vibrantly intellectual for starters.

"Maverick" has become an acceptable substitute for crazy, brash, irresponsible shoot-from-the-hip recklessness; the kind of "gut reaction" cowboy attitude that got us where we are now under Bush.

But repackage it as sharp, feisty "maverickism" and it's A-OK!

Sheesh...
