Palin wore a $2,500 designer jacket to her RNC speech!
According to the New York Post, Palin wore a $2500 jacket during her RNC speech:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/09172008/gossip/pagesix/sarah_has_secret_style_team_129403.htm

Hockey mom, or rich beauty queen out of touch with the women of America?

Can you imagine what the Republicans would say about Biden if he was wearing a $2500 jacket at the DNC?

This woman is not "one of us", as they are trying to market her. Unless most of "us" have our own private tanning beds in our mansions and $2500 designer jackets in our closets.

This needs to be sent to all of the media and Democratic talking heads, just to make sure they have it on hand.

2. She billed around $16,000 for a per diem for her stays at home, so she's got the money.
And the running mate of John Sidney McCain III, with $520 loafers and more homes than he can count, must keep herself looking good.

Don't forget their slogan-- Country Club First !

What is her salary as governor?
The media needs to demand her tax returns. I will wager that the "McCain Advance Team" never bothered to take a "looky" at her returns!

3. No.
Cindy Stepford McBush would be the comparison. She had a $300,000 outfit on during the RNC.

4. it wasn't worth it

unless it's really durable and her family can wear it for several generations, then I think she wasted the money.

18. That jacket was allegedly $2500?
I could have picked up the same thing in the Golden Girls department at JC Penney for forty bucks.

6. That is a huge waste of time.
I'm worried about nuclear war in the middle-east and you want to parade a jacket as bad politics? Give it a break and come up for oxygen.......Pleazeeeee!

8. I disagree strongly!
Kerry was undermined by a "1000 cuts" Republican attack strategy in 2004. Every little thing that puts distance between Palin and the "undecided" voters that were originally impressed by her is worth bringing up.

I don't disagree with you that there are more important issues than tanning beds and expensive clothing. However, any voter who is still "undecided" at this point in the campaign must not be too concerned over big issues. The candidates' positions on big issues are pretty clear. Some voters are going to vote on "character". Democrats are going to have to expose Palin's true "character" if they want to make sure that these "undecided" voters don't lean toward Palin because she's so much like them or because they find her likable.

Like the Republicans did to Kerry and Gore, Democrats need to attack from every angle all at the same time.

Just fighting on important issues is not a winning strategy in modern politics.

to celebrities that is. Actually I doubt that for the Presidential candidates. I know Michelle O. buys majority of her clothing off the rack.
