11. That map shows that Obama is getting more money from TN than McCain...
but McCain is ahead in TN by double digits.

That map does not reflect the polls by any stretch of the imagination. It is a close race. If we believe otherwise then complacency takes over.

16. Well this map does have a date for the end of July
So, it isn't reflecting August yet. I still think it is very encouraging tho.

The map is about the MONEY being raised. Who gives a shit about the polls. They only poll a small percentage of voters and leave out the larger percentage of voters, so they aren't that reliable, IHO.

21. Polls are a statistical sampling of voters...
which represents the population. If you compare the polls and actual votes of 2004 you'll see they were pretty close together. Historically, they have been reliable.

25. Wrong.
The polls REFLECTED the vote - they were the set up to the electoral fraud.

There was more electoral fraud in 2004 than in any previous election in our history, but the tweaked polls agreed with the vote results and gave the frauds cover.

There were "problems" with the vote in 30 states, many of which (particularly Ohio) were enough to give the election to Bush. This was borne out by the EXIT polls, which disagreed with both the pre-election polls AND the vote results. That disagreement is why they didn't do exit polls in '06.

Historically, they've been reliable UNTIL the republican owned media discovered that by owning the polls AND owning the media that reports on the polls they can say any damn thing they want. Who is there to argue?

29. Ohio may have been fixed...
I give you that.

If the votes were rigged we wouldn't have won in '06 the way we did. We'll have to wait and see how 08 plays out.

Oh, and I didn't know they discontinued exit polling.

They were doing a lot of it during the primaries, IIRC.

33. There was actually MORE fraud in '06 than in '04.
They just underestimated how much they would have to cheat.

Or, for the more conspiracy minded, they cheated just enough to give the Democrats nominal control of congress while preventing the Dems from getting enough power to DO anything with that control. That way they could blame the failures of the last 8 years on the Democratic congress - you haven't heard anyone saying THAT in the past couple weeks, have you? That it is all the Democratic congress's fault?

We should have had 10 more congressional seats, and 2 more senate seats in '06.

Many organizations stopped exit polling in '06. Some claimed they had to 'rexamine' the exit poll methodology to understand WHY the exit polls differed so much from the vote count. Of course, if you cannot allow the idea of electoral fraud to go public, any discrepancy MUST be because of flawed exit polling methodology. That's why, ever since 2000, the republican meme has been "unreliable exit polls".

22. Complacency is not the problem.
It is not a close race. However, the biased polls continue to show it to BE a close race, so they can make the stealing of the upcoming election believable.

This map reflects the relative strengths of the people actually involved with politics. Those who donate money = those who vote. This is a better reflection of the candidates' standing than any number of polls. Sure, a lot of the disinterested don't answer polls, but probably just as many will talk to pollsters and then never vote. Voting is bothersome, and you have to go out of your way. And everyone wants to look good so of course they say they WILL vote even if they have no intention of voting.

An honest pollster might try to get around that by only polling "likely voters", but that itself skews the poll because it doesn't take into account the newly registered who have not previously voted, and it under-represents students and other young voters who may be very interested, but are also very mobile.

You CANNOT trust the polls. The ONLY polls that are worth a crap are exit polls - and that is why they no longer use exit polls - they are too likely to expose the electoral fraud.

28. Here...
Gallup Poll dated Oct. 22-24, 2004

Bush 51%
Kerry 46%

http://www.2004dnc.com/polls.htm

Actual election results...

Bush 51%
Kerry 48%

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/president/

In 2004 I swore the polls were wrong and not reliable. I said they were biased, too. I was wrong.

That map reflects money being given...not the voting. How can you believe otherwise when EVERY poll that exists continues to say this is a close race?

36. Did you look at the polls in your link?
6 of the 10 favored KERRY.

Gallup, SurveyUSA and Rasmussen favored Bush. But you are talking as if "the polls" only reflected THEM.

Gallup and Suvey USA have been republican slanted for years. Some here swear by Rasmussen but they, too, seem to favor republicans.

But the polls by American Research Group and Zogby are to be ignored? It wouldn't occur to you that maybe THOSE polls, which agreed with the EXIT polls, were right and that the election was stolen?

It may be a close race. Maybe this map just shows that Democrats have more money than republicans. Or maybe it reflects what the PEOPLE are thinking instead of what the DREs are thinking.

Exactly why I hope Bob Barr fails in his effort to keep Obama off the ticket here. If Obama takes Texas, we win. Period. Call me crazy but I think that McSame will lose the Lone Star State - Bob Barr or no Bob Barr. The sleeping giant is awake.

Barr sues to keep Obama, McCain off Texas ballot

09/17/2008

Associated Press

Libertarian Party presidential nominee Bob Barr is trying to get the names of John McCain and Barack Obama removed from the election ballot in Texas.

Barr said Tuesday he had filed a lawsuit seeking to remove the names of the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees because he said they missed the official filing deadline to be on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.

Barr's campaign is arguing that because neither of the candidates had been officially nominated by their parties by the official filing deadline then it was impossible for the candidates to file under state law.

Randall Dillard, a spokesman for the Texas Secretary of State's Office, told The Associated Press the ballot was certified on Sept. 3...

The polls don't mean shit these days and folks need to get over them. Let the RNC wallow in them, rely on them, have some sort of false sense of security because of them.

Keep working for Obama/Biden - grassroots efforts - word of mouth, those are what work, not the polls, not the negative -

There are two Army bases in KY. I saw a stat not too long ago that says deployed troops give 6:1 to Obama over McCain. I'd love to see some more stats on how the Military vote is leaning.

Guess it's time to dig out my google again.

26. that is amazing.
I am heading up that way this weekend, it will be interesting to eavesdrop when I go to Clarksville with my sister, since she shops where the soldiers do.

However, a question (and I should know this, but I have forgotten, so bear with me)
Fort Campbell is legally KY due to the post office and Base Command being in KY. Does that automatically mean all the on base housing residents are registered to vote in KY (assuming they don't exercise their right to absentee from their home precinct)

I DO know a lot of the off base residents live in Tennessee making them an unknown factor.

McSame has Arizona, which is to be expected, but not TX, which is odd. He's got OK and LA, two big oil states, and three cracker states, where you'd expect the fundies to ante up. He's got a slight edge in North Wherever, but since there are only 57 people there, it doesn't mean much.

I think I'll make CA a little deeper blue today.

at PoliticalMaps.org

2004: States that Democrats outraised Republicans were AL, WA, OR, ID, CA, CO, NM,LA, MS, MN, IA, IL, WV, PA, and all of New England with the exception of DE.

2000: IL, NY, NJ were the only three Democratic fundraising victories.

Interesting.....
