1. So, instead of appearing like an elitist with so much money
she doesn't know what to do with it, Palin appears like a crazy person. Yeah that's the repuke ticket. McInsane and crazy Sarah.

17. That was my first thought too
Some how claiming depression rather than giving in to vanity seems really strange. There is still a stigma to depression. (I have close family members who have suffered from it - and no, they did not use tanning booths!

18. forget elitist or SAD.....it's pure vanity. she wants that 'sunkissed glow'.
but that would sound BAD to people....shallow vanity......SAD sounds MUCH better

16. Not really: "Since the far north region of Alaska becomes shrouded in 24-hour darkness during the
peak winter months of December and January...."

I'm sure there's a lack of good taxidermists in D.C.

Edit to add: I meant no slight to the noble profession of Taxidermy. Hey, y'all are better men/women than I. I faint at the sight of dead butterflies. But Sarah Moosekiller really isn't adept at much else that deals with people. Dead animals are the only things she is safe around.

20. But she avoided moving considerably south to Juneau
are you sure she won't continue to live in Wasilla for about 311 days in each 19 month period and charge the US a per diem? She could fly in to break ties that are likely to happen.

10. She's doing it wrong then.
For SAD you have a lightbox that you look at but AFAIK on a tanning bed you have to wear protective goggles.

11. A tanning bed wouldn't work for SAD anyhow.
A tanning bed limits to those parts of the spectrum that age the skin (which is what tanning is a response to, trying to block it). To treat SAD you need full-spectrum light.

12. Exactly.
It would be very dangerous trying to treat SAD with a tanning bed.
