It doesn't matter if Sarah Palin knows the term "Bush Doctrine.":
Rev. Howard Bess, a retired American Baptist minister in Alaska on Sarah Palin:

"Forget all this chatter about whether or not she knows what the Bush doctrine is. That's trivial. The real disturbing thing about Sarah is her mind-set."

"It's her underlying belief system that will influence how she responds in an international crisis, if she's ever in that position, and has the full might of the U.S. military in her hands. She gave some indication of that thinking in her ABC interview, when she suggested how willing she would be to go to war with Russia."

She may have been flippant about the possibility of war with Russia in her interview with Charlie Gibson because to her, the apocalypse is accompanied by the return of Jesus.

1. I agree. to these fundies the end of the
world is what they look forward to. It is like a normal person looking forward to Christmas. I am very very afraid. We need to get this message out about how scary her religion is--we aren't even discussing half of it--why not?

2. I've been holding back, waiting for the DU faith chorus
to step forward and earn their keep. Many people here are so touchy on the subject that any mention brings a brigade of people wanting to explain that criticizing one nut bag cult is the same as spitting at the Baby Jesus, so I myself have been holding back on the extremism of Sister Sarah, thinking that maybe, just maybe the DU Christians would wish to stand up and clean thier own house of Palin's stentch. Thus far they all seem unwilling to take a stand.

3. but her church is so out there it
is ridiculous. They want to force gay people to be straight for one! They preach some very very scary stuff that DUers must make themselves aware of.

9. I believe in the Rapture
and just as firmly believe that not only that we cannot create the circumstances nor should we, if we could.

These people are nuts and are a distortion of Christian beliefs, not representative of them.
We don't care one bit for them, they are chasing away the lambs from the shepherd rather than bringing them in.
