Physicians demand the release of McCain's Health Records
Physicians demand the release of McCain's Health Records

Most of you may not know that I am a physician. As such, I am keenly aware of thethreat that melanoma poses. John McCain as far as we know has had several bouts with melanoma, invasive melanoma. A condition that strikes fear in t he heart of every internist, because Melanoma can manifest at anytime, and virtually anywhere in the body.

You can be fine for 10, 20, 30 even fifty years after a melanoma removal, and then have seizures one day, and find it to be caused by a metastatic melanoma to the brain.
It could go to your liver, and destroy it, leading to death.
It goes to the lungs.
It is virtually ubiquitous, and when it does strike, its is deadly, and extremely resistant to effective treatment.

Melanoma is not just a cancer. It is a chameleon, in that it will mimic other illnesses and will be hard to find. The only clue will be a history of the patient havig had a melanoma some time in his past. Other times, even that will be unknown.

Given all this, it is no surprise that PHYSICIANS demand to know what is the status of John McCain and his health. We expect to know what his health is like, in full, before he potentially is elected president.

Taz Man's diary :: ::
Let people know how dangerous this is, a presidential candidate with a history of melanoma NOT making his health records a part of the public record.

It is unheard of. Frankly, it is dangerous to our national security, to our country.

Demand John McCain release his health records.

I'd guess that more people die from falls then from melanoma.
Falls can occur at any time too.

Can't cerebral aneurysms manifest at any time, without warning and often with a fatal outcome?

What about lung (and other types of) cancer in past (or present) smokers?

I am more concerned about McCain's position on a host of issues rather than on hypotheticals regarding his health and longevity.

2. My Papaw died of skin cancer
He was a carpenter and worked out in the sun all the time. Papaw had a spot on the back of his neck and it just started changing. That was twenty five years ago, and he just didn't realize what it was until it was too late. It was a slow and painful death.

I'm so glad that people have become more aware of skin cancer and how to check for it and get early treatment. Nobody should have to suffer like he did.

3. I am a physician, and I have suspected for years he lied. NYT confirmed it

when they examined his records. His temple/facial melanoma was locally metastatic---it had spread via local lymphatics to an adjacent area of the skin.

This means you have to wonder if he lied about something else and if they did local radiation therapy. Now, I am not a radiation oncologist or neurologist, but I do know that radiation given over the left temple (parietal area) can cause permanent memory impairment and speech impairment-- of exactly the type that McCain has shown since the surgery . The change was so marked that I have always assumed that he either got post operative XRT or had an intraoperative left side stroke.

So, yes, he does need to come clean. Since he always swore he never had XRT---and I just do not believe that any oncologist would treat a man with presidential aspirations with a facial/temple invasive melanoma with regional lymphatic spread without advising radiation therapy to catch any tumor cells in the lymphatics (and maybe some interferon, although that would not cause long term problems). They dissected the nodes but that would not clear the tiny lymphatics of the skin before they reach the nodes. Only XRT would do that. And XRT in that area can have profound, permanent neurological consequences, sometimes delayed.

4. Thank you for you input, doctor!
It's always good to hear the opinion of someone who knows actually a little about the subject.

:hi:
