"Palin Defends Earmark Requests; McCain Denies She
Made Them" At tbo.com! The Tampa Tribune is a right-wing rag. I am amazed!

2. Good For Her Getting Earmarks
I mean, that's what a politician is supposed to do - bring home the bacon for his/her home district - duh!

We all rail against the "pork" but we want funding for our roads, our parks, etc. We like it when it brings jobs to our area and improves our quality of life.

The problem is hiding it, or lying about it. Sarah Palin should be proud of herself for bringing money to Alaska to improve its infrastructure. She should be ashamed of herself repeating that "Thanks, but no thanks" lie on the bridge to nowhere and it's nice to see her coming clean about it - although it would have been better if she'd done it before the lie was exposed by the media.

D'ya think maybe the McSame campaign is trying to make her wear a dress that doesn't fit and for a while Palin just went along but now she wants to be her own woman? I mean, they only met like once before he made the offer, so maybe he doesn't really know her that well. He thought she was a reformer because he liked a few things she did, and now he realizes she's not, but it's too late. Oh well. Too bad for him - it's his own fault if he didn't vet her better.

3. Right - she should defend her record as mayor & governor.

Alaska wouldn't exist without government handouts - Alaskans are better off for them & WE'RE better off for Alaskans getting them.

It's just Republican hypocrisy that give earmarks a bad name.
