Republicans are VERY scared!!
I had caught a hint of this on the news from the pundits, but today between work and a lunch I went to I had several conversations about Palin. People genuinely wanted her to do well because she's a local Alaska girl, but all anyone seemed to want to talk about was how bad she sounded last night in the interview. I honestly thought it would be no big deal, one of those things democrats noticed and republicans pretended not to notice but that doesn't seem to be the case. The big feeling I got from people was worry- both worry she had killed the campaign and worry that she hadn't and might actually end up in charge one day.

2. The campaign was DOA when she got there
she might have jump-started it for a few days, but that juice has already drained out.

4. The only ingredient she adds is melodrama
and that will only carry her a short distance. People are already tired of it. How will they feel two weeks from now?

She's an extremely inappropriate choice for Vice President, and McCain should be ASHAMED of himself for so close to possibly acquiring that title. He's a traitor to this Country for that selection.

5. Well, given those two options.... and that McCain's campaign is supposed to put "Country First" ...
... they should all know what they need to do.

7. Question for Alaskans

Now that the rest of the United States realizes that Alaska gets by far and away the greatest amount of pork per capita than any state in the Union - $ 12,000 percapita, and the rest of the US realizes that Alaskans not only don't appreciate our investment in their infrastructure but actually want to make political capitol out of posturing against it, does the average Alaskan realize that Palin's little dance on the national stage will profit her personally but it will be impossible to pass anymore pork for Alaska?

What will they think when they have to stop sending Alaskans checks from the state treasury and use their state funds to build their roads and bridges?

Alaskans are going to be out hundreds of billions of dollars over this.

8. Most average Alaskans don't see that pork
Our corrupt politicians and their oil interests do, so I doubt most Alaskans are worried. When was the last time one of those roads or bridges were actually built anyway? The money just *poof* disappears.

As long as no one fucks with the PFD (and they won't, we've got a supreme court ruling on our side) Alaskans are woefully uninterested in the financial questions at play.

9. I might agree but for the re-election campaigns by both
Young and Stevens right now that hardly seemed concerned that any indictments would harm them. They seem to think that bringing home the bacon is exactly what Alaskans want and if they do get re-elected then the original poster would be correct. Stevens has threatened that if he loses we lose the pork. That race is more indicative of what Alaskans want than the presidential, no?

10. I have a question for anyone in Alaska
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 06:10 PM by Blue_Roses
what did Sarah Palin do with the money that she was given to build the "bridge to nowhere" since it was not returned to the federal government? Also, I am aware that Alaskans get a nice check for oil profits (maybe some clarity needed here) how long have they been getting them. The reason I ask, is my sister lived there for seven years and she said they never received them in the late 1980's and early 90's. How did this come about? My sister was asking that question.

11. Whenever I think about this point I kinda wish that Alaskans would get their wish
and just secede from the union already. They can fucking look down on the "lower 48" all they want once they stop suckling at the pig's teat.
