Did Sarah Palin Declare War On Russia?
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 08:00 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I'm trying to decide if I need a good night's sleep since the world is about to end...

I'm thinking of going out and running up my credit cards since it's Armageddon...

I was born just in time to spend 1st grade getting trained in duck and cover. Didn't fill me with confidence then either.

4. Here's my take - she's not informed enough to understand what her statement means.
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 08:05 PM by TwilightZone
She was briefed to provide sound bites. There is no depth behind them and she simply does not understand the issues behind her statements.

8. totally agree with you. she has been cramming to memorize enough sound bites to sound strong and
decisive. problem comes when there's follow up, or if the issue requires more thought than spewing a sound bite about "islamofascism". she's going down in flames. her die hards will always love her and totally overlook her vast ignorance of the issues. but many in the country will see her for what she is, a last minute, hail mary, campaign gamble by mcsame.

11. Agreed. She repeated one of the sound bites four times.
The "we shouldn't second-guess Israel" line. She was only ready to provide a sound bite and wasn't prepared to discuss the issue in any depth.

13. No, I think she did at least on a surface level.
Remember, this is a woman who believes AK will be a refuge state in the end times. War with Russia often figures big in those end times scenarios, so she probably thinks it's a good idea.

Freakin' scary. I hate to say it, but she's worse than Bush or anyone in his administration. That's saying something.

18. I can't believe that I'm going to say this, but I agree with you.
I never would have believed that the Republicans could a) come up with someone significantly worse than Bush, and b) do it so quickly.

Amazing.

21. I know! Where do they find these people?!
Heck, our local state senator running for Congress knows more than she does, has more poise in front of a camera than she does, and actually has some understanding and insights. This is insane!

6. Well, she is perfectly qualified to declare war on Russia - Russia is near Alaska, remember.

If Pawlenty had been the pick, he'd probably be declaring war on Manitoba right now.

20. If she didn't, she wouldn't mind it apparently. Ms. Palin seems awfully
quick to commit the US to war with a former superpower.
