...partially eaten by wolves and polar bears. Lonestarnot
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 01:35 PM by Mortos
Imprecatory prayer is praying for something bad to happen to your enemies. There are several christian groups praying for McCain to win and promptly die so Sarah Palin will become the evangelical president they always hoped (prayed) for.

I hope it works as well as that right wing religious asshat who told his followers to pray for epic rains to flood out the Democratic National Convention. Result beautiful weather 72 degrees and cloudless on the day Obama gave that incredible acceptance speech.

A week later, Hurricane Gustav forced parts of the lame ass republican convention to shut down.

Apparently imprecatory prayer works but not in the way in which the pray-er wants.

This is how I see this despicable prayer working out:

Obama wins in a landslide and presides over the longest period of economic growth, social reform and peace ever known in this country.

McCain's diagnosis of Alzheimers becomes public and his wife leaves him taking mpst of the money and all the houses. McCain's remaining wealth is taken by some Nigerian prince and he is forced to live out his remaining days in a VA hospital with the other veterans and POW's who served their country and suffer the consequences of his failure to support the troops.

Sarah Palin becomes a right wing media darling and makes millions with ghost-written books. She attends lavish parties and later becomes hooked on cocaine and MMF 3 ways by Sean Hannity. Her husband leaves her for a pack of huskies after photos appear online of him inflagrante delecto with same.

Sarah's kids write scathing books about what a shitty mother she was, the most critical by Trig.

She spirals downward finally ending up on a Juno stage performing every two hours as the "Hockey MILF" and earning $5 per lapdance. One sad night, coked out of her mind and drunk on cheap fortified wine, she wanders out into a snowstorm repeating over and over, "I told Congress thanks, but no thanks...". She is later found frozen to death on the Tundra, partially eaten by wolves and polar bears.

****Just added Lonestarnot to see if anyone would read my post.

3. Praying for something bad to happen to your enemies.
When I was in Catholic school, Fr Wolfe called that blasphemy & said it was a mortal sin.

5. Jews aren't allowed to do it either.
If you're driving home and you see smoke coming from your neighborhood, you musn't pray that the fire is NOT at your house. It's at SOMEone's house and if you hope it's not your house, you are in effect praying it's at someone else's house.

4. Prayer for bad to others should always backfire.
I think if anyone prays for bad luck upon another they should inherit that bad luck themselves. It's just karma.

7. That would be called "poetic justice" or "karma"
Sorry, I don't believe in the latter and the former usually only happens in books and movies.
