What the heck is up with you Women?
Ok..That's a little harsh and I'm quite aware that Men are (also) easily fooled but ...

Latest polls show a huge amount of Women flocking to the Palin Circus...even last night on the ABC evening News a reporter
asked a Woman about Palin:
She said: (words to the effect) "She's so fresh and honest and smart...What a breath of fresh air"
Reporter: Do you know any of her views on the various issues ?
Lady: "No..but she seems like such a strong leader"

What the Hell??
Please tell me how any even Semi-intelligent Woman (or Man) could vote for a person that insists a Woman....
(after going through a horrifying, disgusting terrifying Rape) could INSIST the victim carry the Rapist's child to full term.

"You Bitch...You'll be reminded of this Rape every day of your Miserable Life..Aggg!"

It just Blows my mind... Sigh... and makes me Sad..

Actually, some polls have indicated that Palin has had little effect
The migration of white women to McCain may be due to... McCain.

1. Nothing is wrong with us -- it's not true
It was a stilted sampling created to come to a pre-ordained conclusion.

I don't know one woman (Democrat, Repunk or otherwise) who is voting for McCain. Not a single one.

18. Thanks, this friend is actually quite liberal
But just willfully uniformed. Honestly believed some of the Obama is a Muslim BS. Why that should matter I don't know but I set her straight and told her some things she didn't know about McCain and Palin. SHe told me she wanted to vote and wanted to talk to me specifically about this because she knows I know about "stuff like this". That was nice to hear.

17. can't you inform these women
about Palin stance on abortion, and how she does not believe funding Special Needs Kids and she has one of her own cut funding in Alaska by 62%. And I would mention is Palin a woman you could have tea with, just like how everyone thought you could have a beer a Bush, that is why we are in this mess in the first place.

My opinion, Repigs cannot relate to Americans at all, that is why they only think about themselves and their greed. These people are not like us.

thanks

9. I haven't seen that at all
Mostly Republican women went to McCain. But previously undecided Dem women have solidified with Obama since the DNC and the choice of Palin. McCain made a slightly better gain overall, but Obama had the edge in the first place and will likely do so.

Women tend to vote in higher numbers than men and they mostly vote for Dems, that's still the trend. It seems worse right now because so much attention has focused on Palin, but there is little evidence that says women are flocking in droves to McCain. Some, but as I said, mostly Republican and he's added a few I's too.

11. I think you're falling for some vague "poll" that the REPUBS are touting. I don't believe for a sec
that women are "flocking" to the "Palin ticket."

I'm a middle aged white woman. Trust me. There are not flocks of middle aged white women flocking to the Palin ticket.

There MAY be an uptick in support from WHITE CONSERVATIVE WOMEN who would normally vote Repub, but weren't thrilled with McCain but now have been energized. THAT is called energizing the base. It is NOT a "flocking" of women to the Palin ticket.

You are falling for PR. As one pundit said, McCain & Obama were almost tied before the Repub convention. McCain has pulled slightly ahead, but they're still almost tied. If it were true that 20% of women were "flocking" to Palin, McCain would be much farther ahead.

It isn't true.

32. Gallup tracking poll shows uptick in women (but more in men) to McCain post-convention, BUT
it is STRONGEST in the south, which as we all know if mainly Republican anyway, and even the Dems there are half Republicans who didn't change their registration, as well as more conservative Dems than in other parts of the country.

If the numbers go higher next week, or even stay the same, there is a problem. But this is the first week after an historical appointment in the Repub Party, so there's all this excitement going on, and no one knows much about her yet. A bounce was to be expected. I'd feel better if it were a smaller bounce. We all would. But lots of women aren't going to flock to Palin because she is a woman. She is no Hillary Clinton.

19. Media speaks in broad brushstrokes...
Just like we hear that all african americans are voting Obama
(and I know some who are fierce conservativies),
media says that women are flocking to Palin because they
are hungry for a candidate 'just like them.'

We she's not 'just like me,' but nobody asked me.

Sadly, there are too many in the electorate who
believe whatever the daily talking points are;
its too much trouble to do your own work,
its too much trouble to think for yourself.

29. I saw that segment on ABC
And the woman you quoted was never asked her political affiliation or who she voted for in 2004.
That's why I can't stand the parsing that's been going on unsubstantiated.
For all we know, this woman is fundie who voted for Bush two times -- wasn't asked, wasn't told.
The second woman in the piece was identified as a Democrat and I thought, "oh no, here we go" and she parroted what the first woman had said -- that she was tough, dynamic, blah, blah, blah, -- but then went on to say that she would not be voting for McCain/Palin because of deep policy differences.

Even the "Clinton supporters" who put up that website to defend "sexist" things said about Palin that was posted on DU a couple of days ago, also said that they would NOT BE VOTING for McCain based on policy differences.

It is drummed up. The surge in women voters because of Palin are, for the most part, going to be found to be fundie homeschoolers who weren't supporting anyone and were going to stay home on Nov. 5. until the end-of-days, moose-shooter was rolled out.

Even my female Australian Shepherd is smarter than my male Border Collie as far as survival goes.

Sure, my male Border Collie could solve a puzzle better, but I'd put my money on my female Australian Shepherd for survival. My little girl knows how to watch her back.... my brilliant Border Collie is fearless (in a bad way)..... he'd get himself killed when my Shepherd would be a mile ahead running away from danger.

Yes, I'm a male. We have the brawn, not the smarts.

We will win the female vote in the end.

You flash a shiny object in front of any group of voters and a good number of them are bound to flock to it. Once that shiny object is tarnished, though, they are gone.

The media has spent a great deal of time talking about Sarah Palin but not her views on the issues. Biden will take care of that in the VP debate.

to pass on to two of her friends who were "so pissed off about Hillary losing in the primaries that they are supporting McCain." She was dumbfounded and quite frustrated because none of her efforts to date has made a dent in their logic. She has tried talking to them about SCOTUS nominations, Palin's stance on choice, etc. and nothing has convinced them otherwise. Apparently, they are out there.
