1. Senator McCain: How do you respond to charges that you have physically assaulted several of your colleagues in the House and Senate, including then 97-year-old Strom Thurmond? And how can you assure the American public that you have the temperament to hold the highest office in the land?
2. Governor Palin: How long were you a member of the secessionist Alaska Independence Party and do you still agree with their political goals? Is your husband or any family member still connected with that party? And why did you choose to speak at their recent convention?
3. Senator McCain: Is your pick for Vice President really the most qualified candidate for that office? Was there truly no one else in your party whom you felt had more experience or ability to lead in the event that you are unable to serve as president? Why, for example, did you not choose Joe Lieberman, who was rumored to be your first choice up until you picked Governor Palin?
4. Governor Palin: You have been accused of attempting to ban books in your town's public library and then firing the librarian when she refused to go along. How do you respond to these charges?
5. Senator McCain: Could you describe your relationship with Vicki Iseman? Why was you campaign staff concerned about your interactions with this paid lobbyist for the telecommunications industry?
6. Governor Palin: Do you believe that we are in or close to the End of Days and that Alaska will be a refuge from the Apocalypse? Do you expect to be raptured? Do you believe terrorism in Israel is punishment for the Jews' rejection of Christ? And do you believe in Darwin's theory of Natural Selection as an explanation for the origins of modern plant and animal species?
7. Senator McCain: Do you share your running mate's views that victims of rape or incest should be forced to give birth to their attacker's child?
8. Governor Palin: Why does a mayor of 9,700-person town need to hire a city manager to help her run things? And how, with all the federal earmarks you managed to secure, did you leave your town with $20 million of debt?
9. Senator McCain: Your wife stole prescription drugs from her charity to feed an addiction. Do you feel that other drug addicts who commit illegal acts should be treated as leniently as she was?
10. Governor Palin: How do you respond to the religious leaders of your own party who feel that it is not appropriate for a mother of five, including a special-needs child, to take on the responsibilities of such a high office? Is their biblical view of the proper role for women incorrect? And do you agree with your church's stance that your husband Todd holds a position of ultimate responsibility in your family and that, as a woman, you must submit to his authority?
Any others? Remember, they won't be asked unless we start asking them.
