Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig'

Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

6. That would have been ineffective, since she is 4 years younger than him.

2. Smart of him to add the second analogy to point out where he was going
It's Governor Mooseburgers' own fault that she chose the "pitbull" in lipstick metaphor.

5. Actually it's great no matter what b/c the more the media mentions it the more the two words Palin
and pig go in the same sentence.

People will associate the two words. It's actually quite Rovian of Obama.

"Pig in lipstick" and "old stanky fish" (my paraphrase, not his actual verbage) ..... he knew EXACTLY what he was doing! And it was WUNNNNNNNERFUL!!!!!!

I love Jo and BO's subtle swipes ...... good stuff. And they DONT need cue cards to do it!

Plus, he just said "cellulosicethanol" (sp?) I dont even know what that is but how cool is he! ....... let's see McCain or Palin TRY that .... even WITH a cue card.

People will remember what he said and they'll remember the point he was trying to make.

ETA: I keep forgetting that folks is a bad word - changing as not to offend.
