Suggestion on how to compare Palin as qualified or unqualified to be VP.
And not be considered sexist.

There is bound to be someone similar in the personal life of that person you need to persuade that is obnoxious and/or never in a million years would consider qualified to be VP or President.

My apologies to the women in this forum about my next statement. Women can get really catty with each other. And we should use that to persuade them in politics. Some will use diplomacy to a point but there is a time that they will unshield their claws and attack. More women appear ready to attack then it they use to. Mostly younger ones of the teenage variety. Maybe it is the same as in the older days and maybe I just didn't notice it as easily.

The same should apply to the men. There are perfectly qualified men and women leaders in everyone's community. And there are others that are not qualified regardless of their gender. Would they really follow the women and men in their community that are not qualified?

1. If she is unprepared for facing the press
She is most DEFINITELY unprepared to serve as VP-Anybody wanting to be the #2 leader of this country should have at least enough courage to give an unscripted interview and not demand some kind of "deference". Palin should not need to be "tutored" on foreign policy and other national issues. Folks, this isn't "My Fair Lady"! Palin may indeed possess have some "executive" experience as mayor of Wasilla and Governor of Alaska but without any particular knowledge/expertise of critical national issues how will she be able to help lead our country?
Of all of the VPs we've had in recent years, which ones have avoided the press unless deferred to, had to be "tutored", or didn't have some kind of knowledge/expertise of critical national issues? There's NOTHING "sexist" about asking tough questions of a VP candidate nor is there anything "sexist" about demanding some minimal qualifications for the job. Any man with Palin's record would almost certainly be considered to be equally unqualified. Palin is a GOP "gimmick" this year and, god willing, if she and McSame lose in November and she is able to maintain her political viability, she has plenty of time to get some national experience and try again sometime down the road if she wants (not that I'm advocating that of course but at least she could stake a more credible claim about her experience-frankly I hope she and McSame lose and she just disappears back to Alaska-her newborn son and daughter need her more anyway).
