Step 1 : Framing Palin as an extremist
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 12:32 AM by wolverinez
As we speak, Axelrod should be working on a narrative tying Palin to her extremist beliefs. He should be putting together several tough ads attacking her character and making her seem out of touch to ordinary Americans. Hard work? No. The material has already presented itself. Remmeber people, the more OUTLANDISH and insane an ad seems, the more play it gets.

Item #1:

Video of her aerial hunting policy in Alaska. This is about as great a political gift you can get. To not use this video, it's awful images and spooky music is IDIOTIC. It automatically says "killer of momma wolves".

Item #2:

Library censorship. Not all facts are in? So what. Just the mention does damage

Item # 3:

Palin and her husband are very cozy with Big Oil

Item# 4:

Palin's involvement with AIP, and Alaska Group that wants to end national forests and secede from the U.S. And I quote " keep up the good work!".

Is the Obama camp working on a "Palin is an extremist" narrative? If not, why? Why answer attacks and get knocked off message when you can start your own?

I want to see an ad using the helicpoter wolf footage, her and her husband at some Big Oil gathings(of which there are many), her at the AIP conference, and a small library somwhere to tie it off.

LEt me say this to everyone:

Character issues win modern presidential elections. A combination of character attacks with economic soundbytes( IE not lectures) is the perfect recipe for this election.

I am so sick of seeing pres election after pres election where we just sit back and take all the attacks. I really, REALLY question why we are not seeing this agressive style of campaign.

Once you have Palin framed, you can go back to framing McCain. Keep up the "he doesn't know how many houses he has" line with the fact he had a fireplace with his initials carved into it. This paints McCain as an eletist. You turn Palin into an extremist in the voters eye, and McCain into an elitist.

No one cares about lengthy policy speeches full of nuance and intelligence. That's a uptopian outlook.

13. shooting
animals is mainstream for many

and social conservatives place man above nature

as for the anti-amer group....hasn't that been debunked?

nonetheless, those are not the main reasons she's an extremist

14. Not true
1. Most hunters don't shoot from airplanes and helicopters. They have kill tags. The aerial hunting is a slaughter. There is nothing sporting about it.

2. AIP was not debunked. You can see the video on Youtube
