Why We Aren't Going to the Movies this Weekend
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 04:22 PM by GoddessOfGuinness
We've had an unusually tough time financially the last few months. We're not out of the woods yet by any stretch; but now that September has come, I'm starting to get a little more work. So my first thought, after depositing my most recent check, was to take the family and check out a movie this weekend...it'd only cost around $50.

But then I started perusing DU, thinking about what life would be like in this country for the next 4 years with an increasingly senile, hot-headed liar at the helm. Or even worse, if he should die in office, how would we manage with a dingbat president who doesn't know how to differentiate Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae from her McFanny?

So the first little splurge I'm making after a long dry spell will hopefully help secure that America actually has a future.

Go OBAMA & BIDEN!

2. Today I was thinking, the question isn't how much my little contributions are worth,
but how much it's worth to me NOT to have McSame in office. The answer is, more than I can spare, but I'll spare as much as I can.

9. Absolutely!
That's why they were asking for $5. If all of us who have little to offer give whatever we can, it all adds up.:hug::hug:

4. Tell ya what...
If you haven't donated already, keep that $50 for yourself.

I'll send in $100 today and consider half of that for you and your family. I really mean this...

6. You are a sweetheart...
but even if I hadn't already donated, I'd want to send money anyway. We can take a picnic lunch down to the park and take a hike, or play a game of Monopoly, or just hang out and watch TV together. Our recreation time doesn't need to cost anything; but getting Obama in office is going to cost a great deal.

Thanks so much for your offer...:hug::hug:

5. Good for you! And thank you. That inspires me to give some this week.

It won't be much...I only have $100 in the checking account right now. But I can give something this week. I'll give more next week, when I get paid again. :-)

You're a big reason...your selflessness...why Obama/Biden WILL win in November!

7. This past weekend the box office gross for the Top 12 films was $51.6 million
Imagine what this nation could do, if each month, we sent in an amount equal to one movie ticket to one good cause.

:wow:

8. That would be amazing...
Maybe we could help people like this woman, who lost three cousins to Ike when it hit Haiti...
