I predict a 10 point drop for McCain/Palin after she is exposed and her star fades
It may be into October, but I think that Palin is going to be exposed on her many scandals due to avoiding the press... even Gibson's interview will have them take a hit. McCain is due for another big gaffe and now that the campaign has dissed the press, expect them to return the favor.

The most stupid thing a politician can do is piss off the press. It's just a matter of time before the GOP convention bounce fades and Palin is seen as hiding from the media. Once she comes out to face the media, she will be skewered and dusted.

On that note, I would hope that the recent numbers in the polls scare people enough to actually try to do some work or contribute to the Obama/Biden campaign.

THIS IS A STREET FIGHT!

1. I hope the press hangs her around his neck, like the millstone she is.

2. I do too. It's gonna be a nailbiter come Nov, but McCain will come down in the polls.

3. They're afraid of the right wing, wake up
There isn't going to be any exposing if we let them get away with putting David Gregory in charge of election coverage. We fight the media now, or understand that we'll lose in November because they'll do nothing but kiss the Republicans ass and it'll only get worse if they win.

4. I hope
Then again, I was thinking a few days ago that the press was demonstrating some irritability (and some actual backbone) towards Palin due the the 'pugs' claims that she was being bullied. They seemed to be much more defensive than usual b/c the Repugs were actually attacking their profession. However, poll results demonstrating that the 'pugs' framing of Palin as put-upon by the "lib'rul media," and the fact that her speech went over well with the RNC zealots seems to have crushed whatever backbone the press temporarily had. Can you even imagine if a Democratic VP candidate was openly avoiding the press? Where is the outcry from the press re: Palin now?

5. The Times is putting baby puff pieces on page 1 and NBC is promoting Gregory
I agree things will tighten as voters get to know her better, but expecting the media to move that narrative along is a losing strategy.

The Obama campaign needs to push them, with daily references to the very issues that Palin is so extreme on; choice, stem cell reserach, climate change, teen pregnancy, separation of church and state (using the Iraq war is inspired by God line), etc. The media isn't going to do this for us.

6. I predict Palin is the GOP nominee in 2012 as a wingnut martyr hero
