Obama to campaign in Lebanon, Virginia Tuesday

Senator Barack Obama is coming back to southwest Virginia. He’ll hold a campaign rally in http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=lebanon,+va&ie=UTF8&ll=36.903784,-81.469116&spn=1.135458,1.757813&z=9">Lebanon, Virginia on Tuesday afternoon, at Lebanon High School.

The campaign event will mark the Democratic Presidential candidate’s 4th visit to Virginia, and third to Southwest Virginia this year.

The event is free, and open to the public. However, you will need a ticket to get in.

Tickets will be available starting Saturday at 5:00 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis.

Here are the locations, according to a news release from the Obama campaign:

Big Stone Gap Campaign For Change Office
301 E Wood Ave Suite D
Big Stone Gap, VA 24219
Available: Saturday, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, Noon-9 p.m.

Castlewood Virginia Campaign For Change Office
2 Right Miners Drive
Castlewood, VA 24224
Available: Saturday, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, Noon-9 p.m.

Congressman Rick Boucher’s Campaign Office
137 South Court Street
Abingdon, VA 24210
Available: Saturday, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, Noon-9 p.m.

1. Genius. That is WAY out there in Va.
Warner did really well there. Kaine worked it hard with little gain. Webb did very well there.

Hopefully Obama will take Webb, Warner, and Ben Jones with him.

I have been saying (and emailing them) that 3 days on Route 58 would be a great idea.

3. It sure is way out there. But he's just going there to see the gorgeous countryside.
:)

I used to work sometimes in Lebanon as a freelance court reporter. I loved traveling those roads.

5. My first house was in Russell Co., VA. (Honaker)
Glad to see he's going through Southwest Virginia. I hope he talks a lot about clean coal technology and building up the unions. It's a very theologically conservative area, but it's also a lot of "cross the union and you will pay dearly for it." That's why a Democrat like Boucher keeps his job there. He works to protect the coal-miners.
