Since John McCain is against piracy why does his campaign steal so much music? From his website:

"John McCain Will Protect The Creative Industries From Piracy. The entertainment industry is both a vital sector of the domestic economy and among the largest U.S. exporters. While the Internet has provided tremendous opportunity for the creators of copyrighted works, including music and movies, to distribute their works around the world at low cost, it has also given rise to a global epidemic of piracy. John McCain supports efforts to crack down on piracy, both on the Internet and off."

1. Good Catch on his position vs reality
My daughter who is in the entertainment industry sent me an email yesterday telling me that Heart was ticked off and threatening to sue over the use of their music and several others have sent cease & desist letters.

Just another set of lies from our Republican Candidate and Campaign.

3. Apparently, the Wilson sisters do not own the rights to the song and aren't the sole authors anyway.

4. As long as the campaign pays the royalties for the public
performance of the song, there's not much the artist can do.

2. Instead of attacking college students and single moms
the RIAA needs to go after McCain. Surely illegally using music in a public setting for personal gain is worse than downloading a song (which is a truly victimless "crime")

I fully expect to see a lawsuit in the works soon. Sigh.....
