Sarah Palin's views on race and diversity are not reflected in her administration's policies in Alaska. Yet diversity is an issue in our northern-most state.

Palin has taken no position on immigration, affirmative action, job and housing discrimination, school re-segregation, police-minority community relations and racial disparities in the criminal justice system.


During the 2006 gubernatorial campaign, she told the Eagle Forum that she opposed expanded hate crime legislation. She branded all heinous crimes as hate crimes. This view of what constitutes a hate crime goes squarely against the wide body of law and public policy that defines a hate crime as a willful act or threat based solely on racial, gender or religious animus. By lumping common crimes, no matter how repulsive, into the hate crime category, Palin would effectively gut enforcement of federal hate crime laws.

8. If it's Sambo, I've read that story and would sure love it if we were able

to have more than hearsay on it to give it some more legs. But we can document through actual policy that Sarah Palin doesn't have much of a background on race relations. Although shit, she IS from Alaska. Of course, this is all part of what makes her a liability.

I really would love to have more documentation of the Sambo thing. If we can get a "Macaca" on tape, she'd be finished, no matter how racist her base is. That kind of shit just does not fly well on the national stage.
