Simple question: Where's Hillary?
I did some searching on Google.

I found a comment or two of Hillary criticizing "McCain/Palin", but not a single response from her directed towards Palin specifically, criticizing her for suggesting Hillary's supporters would/should naturally migrate to Palin because they are somehow similar.

I searched only because I've been questioning ever since she dropped out just how dedicated she is to ensuring Obama wins in November... leaving open a possible 2012 run.

Personally, I feel that if Obama loses, Hillary can kiss her chances of being the nominee goodbye because she will be blamed for his loss. So it is stupid for her to not go after Palin like no one else can. If Obama or Biden were to say something, they'd be savaged by the media for attacking a mother/woman/etc.

Palin keep comparing herself to Hillary. Only Hillary can hit back the way no one else can, but I'm not hearing it.

Is it just me?

2. Is she the VP or Pres candidate?
...or is this just another way for the "attack Hillary" crowd to get in a jab?

11. Um with due respect they are running a continuation of her campaign against our candidate
It is up to her to take it away from them. She gave it to them.

23. "She gave it to them." - huh? So it's her fault for daring to run as a woman?
I don't get your reasoning here.

Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 03:54 PM by HughMoran
You are saying basically that since Hillary was a woman, she invited McCain to choose Palin for VP.

So, it's Hillary's fault for being a woman, correct?

Can you answer that without being insulting?

40. Unfortunately, she is not.
Good grief! What more can Hillary do? This election is now up to Obama since he made it clear that he thinks he can win without her.

41. I do think that Hillary would be an effective counter to her
...but I'm not going to get angry with her if she chooses to do otherwise.

I think she will choose to hit back hard on Palin once she gets all the facts together. It's better to have your ducks all lined up first though so you don't have to take back any false rumors you may have repeated.

5. She'll be out Monday
If you think Hillary was mad at the idea of a woman who agrees with her like Seblius possibly being VP what do you think she thinks about someone who is against everything she believes in being VP.

7. It's just you. Hillary has been campaigning for Obama and is scheduled
to be in Florida on Monday, from what I've read. Her appearances on Obama's behalf are coordinated with his campaign. She has already shown her willingness to do what she needs to do to get Obama elected and I feel certain that she will continue to do so.

If Obama loses, it most certainly will not be Hillary's fault.

12. I understand where you're coming from but this isn't Hillary's responsibility.
I'm sure she eventually will pop up and show support but even if she doesn't Obama's team has got to hit Palin in her proverbial glass jaw. The question is where is Biden? Obama cannot allow Palin to continue these silly attacks of hers and it is NOT enough to be "above the fray."

Female paternalism (notice I didn't say maternalism) is no more acceptable than plain ole paternalism. I don't recognize the vagina exception when it comes to this type of ruthless politics.

21. Still not specific.
I am aware of the "No McCain/Palin" generic response.

But I want to hear Hillary pull a "Lloyd Bentsen": "You're no Hillary Clinton!"

I understand Hillary opposes "the Republican ticket", but if someone were using MY name to convince people to support something I oppose, do you think *I* would be as silent as she's been???

30. I've yet to see an even moderately acceptable response to Palin from the campaign.
Don't get confused about the difference between the media and the campaigns. There's lots of media attention but the media isn't running for office and the campaign must respond to ridiculous criticism with fire.

response. You point out that she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about, point out the obvious republican record and show why McCain isn't changing anything. She is no normal VP candidate because she generates more interest than the candidate himself.

And I'm afraid I've contributed too much money and personal time to Obama and local Democratic candidates to entertain your other silly comment.

33. for the dozenth time: Obama and his team directs the campaign
And they do a damn good job of it. The key is controlling the message. Anytime, anywhere Hillary speaks is going to get attention. So Obama and his team are going to manage it so that it fits in with and doesn't interfere with the candidate's own messaging. And Hillary is going to be a good soldier and follow that script.

Get it? Co-ordinated campaign.

Hillary is going to do what she considers to be the bare minimum to "campaign for" Obama, hope he loses, and run in 2012. Anyone who thinks Hillary really wants Obama to win so that she has to run against a respected incumbent instead of against a crusty, insane warmongering old fuckbag is nuts. The real Hillary is the classless shrew who ran AGAINST Obama, not the fake good sport that claims to be supporting him now.

42. Hillary is damned either way in some peoples eyes
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 04:46 PM by Nasprin
If she helps out on the campaign trail by giving speeches and showing up at campaign rallies people bemoan that she is trying to steal the spotlight from Obama or she is trying to steal some adulation from Senator Obama. On the other hand if she stays away from the campaign, just minds her own business, then people start questioning her unity toward Obama and the Democratic party. People start saying she doesn't like Obama because she doesn't bother to show up at ever speech he gives. Hillary can't win for losing. I mean come on, enough already. Hillary gave Barrack her support at the convention and has since allowed Barrack to run his campaign his way and without being a distraction. Of course if Barrack wants her to speak or help out somewhere, then Hillary will be there.

edit: spelling
