The media should be asking McCain: Why didn't you vet Palin?
and insist on answers. If he says that he knew about the ethics probe and concluded it didn't account for anything then the media needs to ask, "How can you pre-judge it without knowing all the facts or are you just going by what Gov. Palin told you?

Hard questioning, media! Start doing your jobs.

1. "Hard questioning, media! Start doing your jobs." The M$M CEOs want more Republican Rule.
We have to focus on COMMUNITY and "grass root" Internet ties.

2. sorry but if anything is going to have traction with the average voter it has to get msm attention
as well. I see they are looking into these things but they have to be more vigilant. Liberal blogs alone won't work.

3. The Media Should Just Act What Issue Or Position Does He Differ From Bush On?
Taxes? Lower taxes.
Energy? Drill!

If McCain/Palin are agents of change, what exactly are they changing from Bush/Cheney?

4. The media is too busy swooning - yes swooning - over Palin
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 02:20 PM by truedelphi
I am sure that the swoons are a mere temporary stance and they will be back to their objective reporting any moment now.

:sarcasm:

5. Serious question here
Why is it the media's business how any candidate vets a VP choice? Vetting is an internal process which is done by all candidates on all their important positions. Why is it the public's right to know how that process is done, i.e., thoroughly or lazily.

The media can dig all it wants into Palin's various issues without having to ask McCain whether he properly vetted her or not.

What am I missing?

7. because if we have a vp candidate under an ethical cloud and that candidate wins
and later on information comes out which is damaging then it's too late. That is why they are vetted. Can you imagine what the msm would be doing if Obama had chosen somebody under an ethics investigation as his vp?

8. The public's right to know
The public has a right to insight into the decision making process of the Chief Executive. Picking a VP is an important decision. We want and need to know how it was done.

In the case of McCain, there are rumors of out of control anger (calling his wife a cunt into an open mic) and wild impulsiveness (to some extent they are claiming the latter with the "Maverick" (even if some of them can't spell it) label).

If he made the decision on the VP without knowing all the facts, I think that is relevant. But I am not a swing voter, so maybe my opinion doesn't matter.

10. McCain is hiding from the press just like Palin is.
Their cowardice is pathetic.
