Mass for Obama -- How to Help
For anyone in Massachusetts, the Obama camp is really getting its ground game going here. We'll be one of the big resources to helping New Hampshire vote for Obama\Biden this fall.

Here's how to help:

Greetings all! It has been an amazing three weeks for me as I have learned about our grassroots movement and the tireless volunteers who have brought together such an effective team.

Here on the ground I have formalized the core of our Massachusetts team. Together with each of you, this crew will help us go out and ask for, work for, and earn the votes of people across our state and I want to introduce you to them here. Brendan Ryan has taken a leave from his job as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Patrick to serve as the Massachusetts Political Director. The campaign is thrilled to have Brendan's experience and enthusiasm on the team as we work towards victory here in Massachusetts and beyond.
Sarah Compton has been the center of our grassroots organizing network since early this year, and she has now formalized that role by taking on the title of Massachusetts Field Director. We are lucky to have her on board. We have also opened our headquarters inside the Massachusetts Democratic Party at 56 Roland Street Charlestown, MA. and our new phone number is (617) 776 2595.

As we move forward we need your help, we need your voice and we need your time! Across Massachusetts there are phone banks, voter registration drives and other campaign events in every corner of the state. And, most importantly, opportunities to head to N. Hampshire to talk with voters in that important battleground state. We will be in touch soon tell you about new communication tools and ways to learn about events. As always, we encourage you to post and find out about events on
www.mybarackobama.com. PLEASE join us at one of the important Regional Field Meetings listed below. And, please stay tuned for more information on our STATEWIDE HOUSE PARTY DAY, Saturday, September 13. Plan to host an informal gathering at 5:00 p.m., as special guests will call into the parties!

1. Thanks but I hate the house party
crap... I'll make phone calls but I'm not traveling to NH this time.

I'd rather call people/voters in Ohio! ;)

4. NH went DEM in 2004 and 2006.... there may be a few stragglers but
I'm worried about the midwest. I can call both but I'm not going hiking and driving
all over NH this year. I can't afford it financially or physically this year but my
son has unlimited minutes on his cellphone, so I'll do that! ;)

5. That worries me. We have to keep working for NH win. Obama can win without...
Ohio, Virginia and Florida if he wins Colorado, NH and New Mexico. Truth is I AM more worried about Ohio than NH, but we have to work for both.

Thanks for helping out!

6. I think he'll need Ohio to win...
He said in June he was looking for ways to win without it, but I think it'll be crucial.

Analysis: Despite Palin, GOP still faces tougher odds
http://www.mercurynews.com/nationworld/ci_10385015

snip-->

Obama hopes to put Colorado, Nevada and Virginia, three traditionally strong GOP states, into his column. He also has an advantage now in two states that Bush narrowly won in 2004: Iowa and New Mexico. McCain advisers know that Iowa is a particular challenge because he has never really competed there in either of his nomination battles.

Four other states now loom largest: Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Obama did not compete in Florida or Michigan during the primaries because of Democratic Party sanctions. He lost Ohio and Pennsylvania to Clinton.

McCain advisers see Florida as very competitive but likely to end up their column. They consider Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania as key to the election, believing that whoever wins two of the three in the industrial heartland will win.
