Look, I'm gonna post this just one more time re: McCain:
During the past year many outward signs have markedly changed: his speech qualities - lack of sonorousness, paucity of language, and inflection; his temper, always bad, has gotten worse and is apparently out of control, and his cognitive processes and foci are not what they were; his ability to process is clearly impaired. At the forum, he exhibited perseveration and although this is something which many politicians do in order to change the subject/duck the question, they usually allude to the question before they diverge. He did not do that in several instances. He exhibits impulsive behavior which is becoming more and more obvious - calling his wife the 'word' was an early manifestation of this condition. Not being able to handle the "what are we going to do to the bitch" question was another - a good politician would have been able to turn the discussion in his or her favor without becoming a party to the slur. We all know that that's what they do - even during concession speeches. And finally, he is exhibiting asymmetry of facial expressions including eye movements which are signs of potentially serious disorders.

I believe that he has a 'problem' and it is rapidly progressing.

1. The debates will be very interesting....
I really think he is going to go bananas when he gets cornered.

7. Don't count on it
The debates have become so structured, with so many rules, that there will be little, if any, interaction between the candidates.

I hope I'm proven wrong, though.

8. No, it won't ...
First, I agree totally with the OP, I have been saying for months now that his "condition" was deteriorating, and he clearly is in senior dementia.

But, it won't show at the debates.

First, his inner circle, including his wife know full well his condition. They WILL pull him from campaign trail a couple days before the debates, they WILL innoculate him from the press and any outside distractions, they WILL get him to bed early, feed him right and coddle him, as well as prepare him.

Second, HE knows the stakes, and he is not so far along that he can't muster up a couple hours of near coherence.

Third, he will be himself, bizarre smile, friends 50 times, go off a bit at times.

Fourth, the media WILL provide cover for him, and he knows it.

Finally, BO will NOT bring it out. It isn't his "style" to "corner" people. BO will be himself, thoughtful and honest, McCain will spew his nonsense.

When the dust settles, the MSM will do its job - paint BOs thoughtfulness, intelligence and honesty as something that is a negative in a debate, and paint McCains shollowness and lack of deoth as the kind of confrontational and strong presentation that wins debates.

4. Gotcha
My thoughts also. Don't expect many to see it, though. It is amusing how they atempt to manipulate our minds. Mind control is everything, isn't it ? It is everywhere so you have to rely on research on the net and young people have so little time like older people that don't have to struggle to make a living, not that old people don't, but we do have a little more time to think and search for the truths. 5. The contrived and often inappropriate chuckling, strange grinning
odd facial expressions ... all are signs that he's not well.

The guy's going 'round the bend and wants to leave us with Palin in charge. THAT is prima facie evidence alone!

9. Calling his wife a 'cunt' was not an early manifestation of anything other than his bad temper.
That happened sixteen years ago.

10. disagree.....
early early manifestations of dementia...

those of us who trat folks clinically over many years notice this early before anyone else does and then begins the progression. Many Dementia patients manifest the symptoms way before others pick them up e.g. Reagan's jellybeans...

11. Jellybeans?
how are "Reagan's jellybeans" an example of anything?

God help me, I never thought I would defend Reagan on ANYTHING. What a strange world...

12. Prior to his inauguration,
Reagan's people told the Press that no matter where he went, he insisted upon having jellybeans in a glass jar. As soon as I heard that, I knew that he needed to have something to focus upon which was consistent and was ever-present.

some of the earliest signs are obsession with brightly colored or significant objects which they require for their cognitive well-being.

I had posted the entire story some time ago and am on record at the time with a well-known Philly psychologist who agreed with me...in 1980.

13. "asymmetry of facial expressions including eye movements"

That's likely nerve damage from his cancer operation. It's not necessarily a sign he's got mental problems.
