Brokaw repeating the Palin teleprompter urban legend.
Mumbles is saying "I think even Democrats can agree that she did very well at improvising."

He's becoming the pukiest repuke that ever puked.

5. This might be an aggressive attack- there WAS a shot of her teleprompter last night
no biggie of course eveyone uses them but I hadn't heard this but I remember seeing the prompter--they are so jittery right now they might be just throwing random ideas around at this point.

7. The story is that her teleprompter didn't stop for the
applause lines... (therefore she must be smart to remember all those words!).

However, cameras other than the pool feed showed the teleprompter screens pause and wait for her to begin speaking again.

It's a lie. Brokejaw is in the tank for McCain/Palin.

14. What I read is that about half way through the applause line problem

kicked in. Supposedly there was weirdness with other speakers earlier and that was why she had a hard copy of her speech on the podium. Someone (not sure where I read it i've been everywhere today) said it happened about the time she was flipping through the pages. I didn't see the speech live, but there did appear to be differences in the later parts from the quotes i've seen and the speech as written. But that could just be normal paraphrasing.

He's consistent; Brian Williams is also a Rushbot.

12. He's consistent, not saying he switched or anything
but I think he's just been more transparently pukey than in the past.

then again, I used to like Charles Gibson when I was younger too...maybe they have both always been this bad.

8. I was really surprised. Decided to watch MSNBC instead of CNN
after all, it was called the Obama Network. Karen Hughes said that Obama's acceptance speech did not "make the sale" and he said: I agreed.

9. People should bomb MSNBC with emails about how he needs to get
the facts straight. He gets so high and mighty about how there aren't any real "journalists", then repeats urban myths.

Yesterday, it was that "Troopergate" was a mere blip and people shouldn't pay any attention to it.

10. These clowns are owned by G-freaking-E, what else do you think they'd say?
Tow the line, or be jettisoned. Not that that endears them to me, as I think they are total jags.

16. Jack Welch was on CNBC last night making it clear he is 100% for McCain-Palin and claiming
Obama will be a disaster. THAT is what the fascist"We know he still runs GE" master is saying and you can damn well expect Brokaw to march to whatever Welch demands.

17. Brokaw and Scheiffer old pals of McCain
As you can see, I'm very new here, so forgive me if this is common DU knowledge...

In a piece in the NYT today about how McCain's relationship with the press is changing, they noted that Brokaw and Schieffer were at McCain's birthday party during the Repub. Nat'l. Conven. in 2004. I just don't understand, being a former news person myself, how they can ethically justify moderating two of the presidential elections.
