More good news
My aunt, who is a registered Republican and a conservative Catholic, was scared by Palin's speech. Admittedly, she did not like Bush and McCain, but likes Palin far less than McCain.

Chalk another one up to the Repuke Party's divisiveness.

3. Hi Parche, glad to hear it about your friend
I REALLY think only a small base was galvanized by that speech. We'll see if the polls reflect what we're seeing. :hi:

2. Give her a big hug for me.
I've convinced several older relatives that the best thing for their grandkids, great nieces and nephews, etc., is to vote for Obama.

The economy, the war, the housing crisis, all these are hitting everyone but the top 10% pretty hard, and it's not a hard argument to make that John McCain is not such a maverick after all.

:patriot:

I converted a group of co workers with this, one of the guys went home and converted his whole family, who were gonna vote for Mccain.
I work for a Oil Company and it makes it that much sweeter.

8. My Repuke friend just emailed me about women getting the right to vote
I wrote back that she shouldn't conflate that to thinking she had to vote for a woman this time and warned her that their victory (actually THEFT) will mean the end of our nation and possibly the world. She wrote back that she thought we agreed not to discuss politics (I DON'T THINK SO!) and that she hadn't yet made up her mind. I am hoping she will finally demonstrate some form of sanity, but in the end she'll probably vote McCain because he was in the Navy, like her father.

CAN NO ONE HEAR MY CRIES?????

10. I Noticed the Other Night
That Catholics were going out of their way to identify themselves as such on the podium. Sometimes, I suspect Bush made a deal to help them out with PR here in America in exchange for giving the RW some influence with the Bishops.
