So, the thing that Palin is being praised about as Governor, standing up to oil companies by taxing them, is something that Obama has proposed to do all along. 1. Alaska is a socialist state

and the reason why Sarah Palin is well liked is that she "reformed" the agreement with the oil companies (raised taxes on them) so that instead of every man, woman, AND child getting a subsidy of $2000, they now get $3200. That's for every living soul in Alaska.

No wonder she wants to drill, drill, drill.

The reason Alaskans like Sarah Palin and her husband want to secede from the union is that they want to join OPEC. Alaska is much closer to Saudi Arabia than the lower 48.
