I'm from a small town...a really small town.
About 120 people when everyone is home. That woman offended me deeply and so is this myth making going on that is trying to make her representative of small town people. The people I know in my small town don't turn their back on neighbors or look for ways to increase their hardship. They don't mock people for helping but pull together to make communities with little resources work. Ms. Palin is out of touch with the small town of the lower 48. We don't sit on a lake of oil and we aren't given subsidies by our states for just being citizens.

1. The word at my workplace about her speech...
is that she was very SARCASTIC. She might be high on the clouds at the moment with the powers that be. But trust me after November when McCain gets sent to his nursing home in the desert, Palin is going to be kicked back to Alaska in a flash.
