To anybody who is worried now
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 12:00 AM by CreekDog
STOP. There are excellent reasons not to worry (beyond just the normal "this is important..."):

1) think about both tickets, both parties and tell me which position you would rather be in, politics aside? if we had that team, we'd be crapping our pants (and frankly, many of them are doing just that).

2) is there any doubt that we have nominated the candidate with the best combination of the following available to us this year? 1) communication 2) campaign execution and leadership 3) understanding of our political culture. i don't think there is any doubt.

3) please don't mistake volume for oratory.

4) think back to 1992. tonight looks a lot like that, and that did not go over well and this country is a lot less conservative now than it was then.

3. I'm not concerned at all
They have offered NO solutions this week - about health care, jobs, wages, education, the environment - just slash and burn politics, drilling, and keeping tax cuts in place for the very wealthy.

They're burned out hulks, devoid of any new ideas. They'll never win the middle with this convention.

4. I was afraid that she was going to be likable...I'm no longer worried at all.
A female VP full of sarcasm is not what the country wants.

It was a very bad introduction indeed.

9. Anybody who is worried
..is a worrier. Palin was supposed to counteract the fact that McCain has the looks and personality of a bloated corpse, but she spent the her first real speech, where most Americans got their first impression of her, acting like a spoiled child who had had her toys taken away.

Nobody watched that speech and decided that McCain/Palin was who they were going to vote for. Many people watched that speech and were totally turned off by McCain/Palin. That's a win for the Democrats.

10. Point well made
A lot of people get overly-concerned when the spotlight is on the rethug convention but we are a long way from election day. I'm sure Obama and Biden are both confident and ready.
