9. Men have no clue what working women think... unless they are parroting their pro-Palin wives
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 06:52 PM by ClarkUSA
Which in Chuck Todd's case is true, given that his wife volunteers for the McCain campaign
(Google is our friend even if McCain's campaign has no clue).

12. Explain to me,
because I seem to have missed it, just what paid employment has she held most of her adult life? I know she was a sportscaster. And then mayor of Wasilla. Which I sincerely doubt is a real full time job. And now governor of Alaska, which I likewise suspect isn't a real full time job.

I mean, just how often has she submitted a resume, filled out an actual job application, been interviewed, and then hired? Oh, yeah, and then actually showed up for work and put in her eight hours.

15. I'm a working woman (working right now) and I don't want her to succeed.
I'd love to see a woman succeed at this level, I'd even accept a Repug who's moderate, but not this hayseed from the frozen tundra. She hates me (I'm gay), she hates women (think about it--what woman who likes other women would say, 'You were raped, have that baby!') and she hates animals and the environment. Nope, I'd like to see her on the Fail blog and soon.

some of the people on MSNBC the past few days.

Gregory is almost unbearable most of the time.

29. No We Don't
I've worked outside the home (and inside as well) for the past 35 years. NO WAY do I want her to succeed. She's the embodiment of everything that's been wrong with how this country has treated women.

How would they have a clue what working women want?

35. Welcome to DU! This longtime working woman, who's now semi-retired, does NOT
want someone with her mindset to succeed. I may be too old to have children anymore, but my right - MY right to decide what happens with my body is sacrosanct, and I want to make sure that right is protected for my teenage daughter, and eventually her daughters, and their daughters, and onward.

38. I got to be a stay-at-home mom
to raise my two sons, and among the reasons I did so was because I saw the complete lack of support for working moms. It still makes me angry that women who work aren't respected, schools expect there's a stay-at-home parent. I don't care if there are two parents at home or not. Raising children is incredibly important, and needs to be respected AND supported, regardless of whether or not Mom has a paid job.

I am in constant awe at the women who really do accomplish it, especially the single mothers. My own mother more or less raised us alone. When I was 14 she left an abusive, alcoholic father/husband and moved the five children still living at home (ages 7 through 15) about 1500 miles across the country and started a new life. I always admired and respected her for that, even though we didn't always get along. But it was not until I had two children of my own, and even in the context of an intact, pretty decent marriage, realized what an incredible thing she did.

And even though I also believe firmly that all mothers are working mothers, I just somehow don't see anything in Sarah Palin's history that allows me to identify with her. I wonder why.

41. Chucky T and his wife want to keep a least one car...the 75K Mercedes...
that a DU'er who works in DC saw him entering in a parking garage there. Gotta work hard ...he might want to "trade up" in the future...and his wife probably needs a new car, too.
