My two cents on Palin.
She was chosen to bring-out the radical right wingnuts, who otherwise would have stayed home rather than vote for McCain.

I don't think she will be dropped from the ticket no matter what comes out about her. McCain's people know that nothing matters to the wingnuts but her positions on abortion, creationism, sex ed, guns, etc. She could be revealed as a former agent of the KGB, and it would make no difference.

The wingnuts WILL now vote for the McCain ticket, in the hope that he will die soon, and Sarah will usher in the Rapture.

Which will make NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. These people are already being counted as McCain supporters in the polls. Obama is way ahead in those polls, and undoubtedly even farther ahead than the antiquated polling methods would indicate. Further, most of the independents who were on the fence will now commit to Obama just to prevent Palin from getting anywhere near the reins of power.

So, the net result is a gain for Obama; who didn't need it anyway.

Meanwhile, it's fun to mock this asinine choice, but let's not get too invested in that. Because it JUST DOESN'T MATTER.

2. She gets them as fired up as Terri Schiavo...
...except she actually says the things they fantasized Schiavo would have been saying.

3. I agree. McMansions should have gone for the Independents as he had planned.
The base is not very big, it is just very vocal.

tho I think all in all, she's a net plus for McCain.

5. I agree with all your reasoning, I just hope that the Pukes don't steal the election again.
Also, I'm sure that the Republicans will unleash a lot of horrible attack ads in the closing weeks of the campaign. They'll dump a lot of lies on Obama right at the very end. We need to be prepared for that.
