1. I think its common knowledge it was a shotgun wedding.
Of course Barack's mother was 3 months pregnant with him when she married his father, so if we REALLY want to go down that road, I think our candidate may frown upon such an idiotic course of debate.

3. A bit hypocritical for Ms. Abstinence Only
I think that without bringing up families at all, abstinence-only is certainly something that should be up for discussion. And if it so happens that Palin has an awkward position to defend, that's because she is taking this extreme position even though it flies in the face of her own life experience.

2. What idiocy!
Who would even think to check this out?

This is what you want to discuss in a critical election?

4. She eloped unexpectedly, had baby 8 months later.
Neither she nor her daughter followed the abstinence-only rule they want everyone else to pledge to.

6. I don't think they view it as a rule...
more like just an option. It's as if they only want people to have the option of abstinence or possible pregnancy.

7. Like Bristol's "courageous choice" not to abort.

What would they have thought of her if she had aborted? Some "choice".

5. Don't care.
Obama's parents wed in similar circumstances. So it's hypocritical, but she wasn't even in politics at the time. A total non-starter.
