What are your rethug acquaintances saying about the prospect of President Palin?
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 01:07 PM by RiverStone
The spin in the wonderbread family at the RNC convention is that folks are thrilled with Sarah, yet what about in the real world? As you have had a chance to ask rethugs you may know what do they think about Sarah, what have they said?

Historically, about 1/3 of all VP picks have had to fall into the roll of President. I won't fathom Joe Biden needing to do that, but if some unforeseen tragedy created that need - Joe would do just fine.

If McCain becomes ill or is otherwise incapacitated, what do your rethugs acquaintances, friends (I have no real rethug friends), and family think of there being a President Palin?

President Palin?!

1. my republican aunt
who works for a republican mayor...is voting Obama...she wants health care. Not sure how she feels about Palin...but she thinks Hillary is Satan's sister.

2. After sending out about 5 anti-McCain/Palin emails a day, I'm not
hearing anything from the people who were sending me anti-Obama emails. I think they know they're whipped in the email war since Palin came on board.

3. My sister is switching to Obama
mainly on the judgement issue. However, her daughter is nuts about Sarah, thinks she is TERRIFIC.

Making this worse is that my niece is an OB/GYN nurse at a University Hospital. I don't know if she knows Sarah's delivery timeline decisions or not. I am staying out of it, but gave my sister that hilarious decision tree posted earlier in case she gets into it with her daughter.

4. Mine today said voting third party...
He said, and I quote, "They are forcing us to choose between a black man and a woman." That is the problem he sees in the two-party system.

I encouraged him to vote for Bob Barr.

5. Nothing...not a word...
My RW relatives have been noticeably very silent. Before McSame picked her they were warming up to him...now...nothing.

7. A couple of rethug friends at work
are not going to vote after the Palin pick announcement. The prospect of a Palin presidency is too much for middle of the road republicans to bear.

8. Don't know.
I don't talk to my RW brother. I don't care what he and his idiot wife think anymore.

9. A friend is a republican but said he was voting for Barack before
Palin. However I talked to him this morning (he's actually a local and state political activist) and he is SOOO mad at his Republican party for being hijacked by the far right-wing Christians. He said "I'm really afraid of this McCain/Palin ticket."
