Forget "Troopergate," Alaska secession, or unwed pregnant teens, *this* is the real danger...
Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

Time

Do we really want a "book burner" in the higher echelons of the Federal Government? :scared:

I'd like to know which titles were on the Mayor's list and why.

Hey, Mayor! Here goes the 'Harry Potter' series...!!!

2. I, too, would like to know what books she'd have banned.
If she ever gave interviews, maybe someone could ask her.

24. But the OP says "some voters thought they had inappropriate language"
Granted, a few evolution books have pictures of dinosaurs getting it on, but on the whole they don't exactly fall under "inappropriate language."

4. Recommended - book-banning is as anti-American as secession.

9. How do fundies feel about intergalactic travel and Science Fiction
First they'd ban the books; then they'd ban the Star Trek reruns!

22. I think they particularly hate Star Trek.
After all one of the major messages of that series is tolerance and the pursuit of peaceful coexistence with peoples of different beliefs and ideals. Such ideas are absolute anathema to the fundies, who seek an apocalyptic reckoning between themselves and everyone who disagrees.

She is a full-fledged fundie and it will be interesting if she temper's her tone.

7. A book-banner who fires people who don't support her 100%
People need to be made aware that this VP candidate is an abuse-of-power junkie.

I understand Obama and Biden keeping the focus on McCain and his judgment right now, but assuming she passes the convention test with flying colors, they need to make people aware of exactly who would stand a step away from the presidency, and that includes her 'shadow governor secessionist' of a husband.

12. Wo sie bucher brennan, Sie werden leute brennan. Heinrich Heine
I probably badly retranslated it, but it means:

"Where they burn books, they will burn people."

Not now, not ever, not on my freakin watch.

14. Remember this.
Despite all the spin and media hoopla, Sarah Palin is a lightweight.

Her resume is non-existent. McCain's attempts to toss out meaningless comparisons is a smokescreen.

Once she says the words 'I accept the Republican nomination for vice president,' the gloves will come off.

Obama's team will easily - easily - strip the bark off of this wannabe. You'll be surprised at the ease with which they'll do it.

She shouldn't even be warming the bench in the bigs, let alone batting second.

Once again. Sarah Palin is a lightweight. She will be revealed as such once she's officially the VP nominee, and not a moment before.

They're going back to the "old school conservative" model of the 1930's. :puke:
