5. I'll go a step farther and say the pregnancy "drama" is part of an elaborate Rovian trap

Along with stories that appear and then go away, e.g. the AIP membership thing. The idea is to draw premature fire, so as to waste ammunition and make Palin's opponents seem mean-spirited.

The whole thing is a massive distraction. They've floated an attractive female candidate who happens to be deeply conservative. She looks great on camera, and violates all kinds of liberal-held assumptions about how a woman is supposed to think and behave. So she gets lots of attention.

John McCain is the GOP candidate for President. Their VP pick is certainly important, but for the last three or four days it's been all Palin, all the time.

What about McCain?

11. It's not just the fact that as an Obama volunteer we are told frequently to

stay out of the gutter, no negativity, the families are off limits. I get to take part in a conference call from Obama today for all team leaders volunteering for his campaign. I can't wait to hear what he has to say.
