So, can we now say Palin isn't qualified to lead the Senate?
Every republican I've seen in the news these past few days have said that Palin has executive experience and is thus more qualified to to lead the country than Obama (Mayor and Governor trump senator for executive matters).

Considering she is actually in the running to be VP, and the VP's major job is leading the senate, can we argue that her total lack of legislative experience thus means she is not able to do her primary job?

1. Cheney isn't leading the Senate.

Sarah Palin won't be leading the Senate even if McCain-Palin wins.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) will continue to lead the Senate no matter who wins the presidential race.

2. True, but that is what the VP actually does by job description
No legislative experience, no ability to do the job...

By the repub definition of experience, at any rate.

3. She's the most qualified person ever to run for VP or Prez that this nation
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 11:48 PM by wienerdoggie
has ever been blessed with. That's what I take away from one day of GOP spin. She's a military genius (National Guard), she's an old hand at foreign policy (Russia is close, you know), she runs an economy (that basically consists of sending its citizens checks), and she has indeed squeezed numerous children out of her vagina. Why didn't SHE just run for Prez to begin with?

7. Yeah, they'll be taking care of that detail, somehow, if they can engineer a win in November.

10. First, president of the senate. Preside=to occupy the place of authority or control
Second, it is the only major recurring job that every VP has filled besides stepping in when the president is unable to perform his or her duties. Third, whether the VP invokes this power or not is inconsequential to this being the major qualification to becoming vice president. Fourth, loved the belittling comment.
