She defied me.
My daughter attended the marches against the RNC both yesterday and today. I'd begged her not to. As for myself, I couldn't find her (amidst the thousands marching). I didn't take my camera. I feel like such a wimp ... but it's (said camera) expensive, and I didn't want it to be confiscated. Daughter is tough, and was with her boyfriend, who's also tough. Doesn't mean I wasn't worried.

Daughter was on CNN, Faux and 'Care'11 (local) news. Apparently, momma raised a baby who demands to have her voice heard.

Tonight she fled as the tear gas was tossed (a horrifying phone call), after Rage Against the Machine was going to do an impromptu show but were denied after 7pm.

Tomorrow Palin talks. I'll be there. Daughter at my side.

2. I'm glad she's all right - and you must be proud of her
(now that it's over and she's safe and sound)

It'll be a trip to see Palin -- you WILL give us a report, won't you?

3. You should be damn proud!
It sounds like you did a wonderful job raising your daughter. I'm really glad she's safe! Tear gas isn't that bad, but it can be scary for someone her age.

7. Authority has no right to confiscate a camera in America.
Authority has no right to confiscate a camera in America. Unless you are engaged in espionage on a military base as one of the very few exceptions.

However, I can understand anyone not wanting to litigate to get it back, though the more cases there are like that, the fewer cameras will be seized. Fortunately it is extremely rare that one gets seized. Usual ploy is to try to force you to erase the card, which they can't do either.
