I really don't want this to turn into a discussion about Bristol herself, I'm talking about the principle involved. You have a rabidly pro-life, pro-abstinence candidate whose own child is not swayed enough by her parents' influence. Doesn't that strip all credibility from abstinence teachings?

3. In my view, it does. Right now, it doesn't have much
of a leg to stand on.

4. It is hard to say one case is a big enough sample to say
"told you it doesn't work." Sorry I do research and you need a larger sample.

Regarding abstinance-only I think it is certainly something we should teach our kids IN ADDITION to full blown sex education and also education about contraceptives and birth control. A mix of all is important and should be discussed. I hate the the fundies think their is only one way to do everything.

5. Duh. "Abstinence only" never *had* any credibility.
The righties would know that from the many unanimous research studies, but of course they don't "believe in science". Here's a direct example of the policy's failure but believe me, they will spin it into a towering success that proves they were right all along. It's the Republican way.
