What we have here in this silly thread is "some amateur political minds" who try real real hard to sound like they know that they are talking about. They're knee jerk sissies who cry the sky is falling the minute a Brownstein poll or CNN hack spouts something negative. They are what I like to refer as "surface politicos". They glance and decide.

In a nutshell! They're lazy! They take no time for any deep analysis or dissection of how this race is playing out. They look at a number like 51-44 and start screaming comparisons to Al Gore. (Side note; I love when these amateurs diss Gore for his bad race in 2000 but they always fail to mention that Dubya was 17 points ahead at the beginning of that race. AND wow! Gore came back and won that race.... Go figure!

These lazy surface politicos fail to read blogs like the Daily Kos and see the numbers showing battleground states and undecideds leaning heavily toward Kerry. They throw out 11 other polls that show Kerry leading the er, popular war time incumbent. They don't' mention Dubya's 39 percent favorable rating...39 percent. Incumbents with those types of ratings never get reelected.

I've come to the conclusion that these thread starters are either trolls, or just extremely clueless to the game of politics. When folks start a "Sky is Falling" thread here on DU regarding this election, with only surface info, they need to be taken down immediately.

Its amusing to see them treated with polite ridicule. That may be how otherwise well intending posters may learn.

And it literally turned my stomach. The gloom and doom is killing my spirit. It's not enough that the media takes turns skewing the facts, I have to come here (where I thought it would be safe) and hear the same crap reprocessed. It's getting worse every single day that I come here and some days I just completely avoid the campaign forum. If John Kerry needs enemies then he can most certainly come here and find them readily.

I'm the first to admit that John Kerry wasn't my first choice, but he's the candidate I choose to support and I refuse to jump on the bandwagon of bashing him.
