Great quotes from ex-husband's co-workers about McCain/Palin:
He works around southern trucker types who still worship Bush and love McCain. They know Ex is a Dem and he has had many a heated discussion. The day after McCain's announcement this is what his two main antagonists had to say:

#1 - "Well I guess you got your wish - McCain just handed the election to you guys by picking that broad from Alaska" Ex asked if he would vote for Obama then but #1 just walked away.

#2 - "I can't believe McCain picked a woman without any experience. If something happens to him then a woman will be president. I'm not voting for him and I ain't voting for your guy"

Picking Palin may have gained him a few votes from women but will lose votes from sexist men who do not want a woman as President or VP no matter how purdy she is.

1. And I think sexist men outnumber the women who'd be fooled by this STUNT by about 10:1

6. Yeah but most of those sexist men were already in the McCain camp
so it's no gain.

8. It is a gain. I'm saying the sexist men will just stay home
That takes votes away from McCain.

2. The only place I see

4. John McCain's Hell...
The more he appeals to the fundie base, the more he alienates the Independents.

3. McCain is banking on the fact that men will vote for her
because she hunts with an AK whatever the supergun is that Barack mentioned in his speech. Barack said something to the effect that we could all agree that this gun is not necessary for hunting. Palin also allows people in Alaska to shoot wolves from the air.

5. The MSM and pundits will try to do McCain's heavy lifting and convince
their watchers that she is the right choice. They are aiming at the telemarketer/faith healing/snake oil crowd...and, unfortunately, there are lots of them

7. My fiance saw her on TV this morning. He doesn't
vote but considers himself a Republican. This is what he said about her:

"I think MCain blew it."

My fiance is not a chauvinist or anything but he said she looked like she was speaking at a PTA meeting.

9. My husband also works with a couple of right wing males
& they are both PO'd about McCain's choice. They hate blacks & women about the same. The one guy said he would leave the office of the president blank & the other said he will probably sit out this election.

It will be an interesting few months.

10. I've always said: GOP voters won't vote for a loser. Especially when he loses to a black man.
They're staying home. The polls don't tell you who will go out, get in the car, and park and vote.

Most GOP voters don't know anything about their candidate or the issues or the facts of the economy. But they know they can't affor gas or heating oil, and they know who's been in charge.

They vote wallet. So, they're staying home. They know they don't want more of the same, and they won't vote for a black librul, so,
they're staying home. Period.

This election is over.
