ZOGBY: McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden
"The interactive online Zogby survey shows that both Obama and McCain have solidified the support among their own parties - Obama won 86% support of Democrats and McCain 89% of Republicans in a two-way head-to-head poll question not including the running mates. When Biden and Palin are added to the mix, Obama's Democratic support remains at 86%, while McCain's increases to 92%."

So the Palin pick helps with the party faithful and not with "Hillary voters" as the media keeps suggesting. This is expected given Palin's right wing ideals but I wonder what will happen to independents in the next 60 days as they learn more about Palin's ideology. I'm sure a good number will flock to Obama because the "maverick" mask will eventually fall.

5. Why is Zogby using 'likely voters' when a more accurate poll for November uses registered voters?
You have to wonder why.

3. I've said it over and over since Friday...
Palin is there first to shore up the base, and second to piss us off.

Those are the only two reasons she's on the ticket. Blatant political pandering. More of the same.

8. Online Polls Are A Joke No Matter How Many Controls And Who They Favor
It is not a random sample and therefore of dubious utility in predicting actual voting

That being said I would like to see significant separation between us and them in all the random sample polls...

9. The way zogby polls is really screwed up. Gallop has a 9 point difference
for Obama. I cannot believe that it turned around in 1 day like zogby suggests, and the proof of the innaccuracy of his poll is that it says that 22% of those that voted for Hillary, now are voting for mccain, bullshit mr. zogby

Remember zogby also predicted a landslide for Obama in NH against Hillary in the primaries

I would weight zogby as a flip of the coin

14. I started answering this interactive survey!
I gave up about 30% in. It had already taken like ten minutes and I was only 30% in. It sucked. The last page I was on with the thing I started making the stuidest answer I could come up with.

15. THIS IS NOT A POLL!!! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP POSTING IT?
Goddammit, it's an online survey. Like those things you fill out on CNN's homepage, only longer and more tedious.

Please stop posting these. They aren't polls.

18. In any case...
All it really suggests is that people who were going to vote for "McCain or Nobody" are going to vote for McCain.

Shocking. Shocking, I tells ya.
