Ok I have to ask
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 01:43 PM by holiday
so I have to ask.

Would we be in this Palin mess if Obama had just picked Hilary? I think there is no doubt that he would have won if he would have picked Hilary. They both had such HUGE support, add that together and you have a win.

And this is coming from someone who was happy with either Obama or Hilary.

Hilary would have made this woman look like a joke.

6. Apparently the OP is afraid Palin will siphon Dem votes
I, on the other hand, think the Palin pick is the best possible scenario for us. I don't think we could have made a better pick for McCain to lose if we had done it ourselves.

7. I think she is a joke
but dems are intellectual like that

Republicans work on "emotion". They are all over t.v. with this. It's like a slap in the face at Obama's campaign and vp selection. We have to admit. I sure as hell hope that people see thru her like we do but we are talking about the same nation that elected Bush TWICE because he seems like someone we could have a beer with.

McCain moved his election into "historic" category as well with this pick. Still not sure why he picked this particular female but still.

11. well that "Palin mess" belongs to the gop and her being picked is an insult to all women
including Palin.

Newsflash to McCain, we aren't dumb bitches that will buy Palin as a sub for HRC.

2. Palin IS a joke
Hillary doesn't need to be on the ticket for Palin to look like a joke. She'll be on the campaign trail stumping for Obama, and believe me, she'll take a shot or two at the Palin pick.

13. Just wipe her selection off your shoe and keep on truckin'.
Stop giving this ridiculous backwoods dog catcher any more attention than she deserves ... which is none.

10. What Mess?
The Obama campaign handled Hillary. I don't think they will have a problem with a lightweight like Palin.

12. This Makes Hillary Very Relevant Again...
...and she can stand up in a way she couldn't if she had been a candidate.

This lady is attempting to grab Hillary's accomplishments for her own...but instead of shattering the glass ceiling, she wants to replace it with plexiglass.

The contrasts between these two are so obvious...and it now gives Hillary the chance to speak up and out and have a very positive affect on this election. One claims to be for the rights of women, the other is being used by a party that exploits and considered women at second-class.

I truly hope Hillary, with her usual class, rips this poser to shreads.

16. but
you have to admit, McCain picking a woman was like a slap in the face for Hilary supporters.

I hope the truth comes out about this woman. I can't stand her and I will be very upset if she is our VP. Maybe I will be like Peter in Family Guy and make my house my own nation!

17. I'm Hoping The Dust Soon Settles
Of course I see how cynical a move this is...and a total insult to Hillary and the many years of work she's done to put those cracks in the glass ceiling. She's been the target of these goons for years and now, when her model serves their purpose, they're trying to steal it. I would hope Hillary's supporters see through this and call them on their bullshit.

Unfortunately there will be those...and I know a few women...who are so bitter by the primaries they'll see this selection as an escape hatch not to vote for Obama...or to punish the Democrats...even if its against their best interests. And dare I say it's because there are those who just won't vote for a black...period...and this gives them the "moral" or plausible deniability to say they're supporting a woman while the dark truth is they're racist.

Cheers...

McCain/Palin mess. They are the ones who are going to get the flack.

18. What mess?
We don't have a mess. They do.

She would have to have fallen off a turnip truck with her head impaled up a moose's butt to not know what she faced by accepting the VP offer. Alaska is not a foreign country and they actually have tv stations in Anchorage.

She put her family out there and she also knew about this investigation so she deserves to get her ass kicked. Her children do not. She should have thought about them. McCain is going to go down in flames when this finally ends.

As Obama said, they need to own their failures.

20. Mess? It's a gift served up on a silver platter!
She will drive away far more voters from McCain than she could ever attract.

Thank you John McCain for your horrible decision!
