IGNORE PALIN !!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 10:14 AM by RDANGELO
I have come to the conclusion that the selection of Palin is about racial identity politics more than anything else. They want the young attractive white woman contrasted with the black man. The more that Palin is attacked, the more people will be affected by racial identity. This pick doesn't change the fact that John McCain voted 90% with George Bush, and that his election will continue his polices. Don't attack Palin, attack McCain!

3. I agree and it seems Obama's camp is going to ignore her
If she is ignored then she becomes less significant and just fades away.

5. Why should they get in the way?
The MSM will tear her apart. She is shiny new, fascinating and unknown. Perfect fodder.

4. Huh?
People will be "affected by racial identity?" I don't think so.

The fact is, the very thought of this woman being president -- a likely possibility if they win -- is frightening. All their talk about the dangers of the world and how important it is to get it right so we'll be safe blah blah blah -- and people will be comfortable with HER as leader of the free world? MAJOR weakness.

In addition, the GOP is the party of hyper-masculine mystique. She really takes that away from McCain's image.

6. this was brought up on Real Time. It has to be about McSame. People do
see what Palin was: desperation.

My mother (not political) was at an event last night and she said that was what people there thought. He picked her just because she is a woman. And, to my mother, that made him look worse.

7. this post is onto somthing
Guys, this post is onto somthing. Look at the latest discussion post on he first Obama ad since the pick. He is leaving her completly off the table and focusing on McCain. I think they are going to let the media do its job and bring in all the negetives and leave their hands clean.

8. VP'S are supposed to be Presidential attack dogs....
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 10:44 AM by jcla
They don't call her the "barracuda" for nothing.... just read what she did about the ex-brother-in-law. She really stepped over the line getting everyone including her husband and some of her staff involved in that... So the Rethugs really like that sort of power play crap... think Alberto Gonzalez, Carl Rove, Monica Goodling.... So now we have "Trooper Gate".
I guess Barbara Boxer will have to take our attack lead on Palin. She has already done one good hit! Go Barbara!

We just can't ignore a truly bad pick for V.P. by McShame. To much is at stake one heartbeat away.

9. I've Been Thinking The Same Thing
She hardly seems worth the effort to attack. Though, the thought that she could actually end up as President is quite frightening. Damn Rove, always playing the fear card.

10. Don't ignore her, don't attack her engage her; have her explain the dead animals, the wierdest....
coffee table center piece I've seen in over ten years, wasting taxpayer supplied assault rifle ordnance in khaki t-shirts for photo-ops, her, "Iraq? What Iraq?" policy, and the absence of Bob Ross paintings in her living room. Let her explain that shit!

11. Attack McCain's lack of judgement in accepting her as VP
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 11:14 AM by cottonseed
As we all probably realize, it wasn't his call to make. Someone pushed this down the maverick's throat just like everything else during this campaign. Attack McCain's irresponsible and reckless behaviour in accepting Palin as VP who only a little over 1 year ago was a mayor of a small Alaska hamlet.

We attack McCain's judgement, paint him as less than independent, and attack the terribly irresponsible choice of such an inexperienced and out of touch nominee without ever laying a hand on Palin herself.

12. What we need to do is attack McCain's judgement.
She's here specifically as a lightning rod, alright.

What we need to do is attack McCain, ask as loudly as we can "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, PUTTING AN UNQUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL ONE PRETZEL AWAY FROM THE PRESIDENCY?!!!"

15. She needs to be handled carefully, but it is a terrible mistake to ignore her.

1. McCain's selection of Palin throws his whole "judgment" and "I'd rather lose an election than lose a war." meme out the window. If McCain can't recognize the danger to our nation that suddenly thrusting an ill prepared Palin into the Presidency if tragedy should befall him would pose then he definitely does not have the judgment to lead. He is putting the safety of the nation and the world at risk in a very real way to win an election which is something that he has claimed he would never do, but Obama would.

2. This selection also shows one more way in which McCain is promising a third Bush term. One of the hallmarks of the current administration is its knack for thrusting people into positions for which they are ill qualified because they pass the religious/ideological litmus test.

The theocons don't care about any of this, of course, because they think that if we just ban abortion, hate gays and kill Muslims that God will fix all of our other problems because we are so damned righteous. I suspect that they would be fine with McCain dying in office because Palin is more of a theocon than he is. If she starts WWIII by accident that that just brings the rapture one step closer.

You are so right. I like the new Obama ad -- all about McSame's echoing Bush -- and barely a mention of Miss Wasilla.
