Media Matters not comfortable with "Down syndrome" line of attack against Palin
Surprisingly, one of my favorite progressive websites, Media Matters for America actually defended a conservative yesterday when it decried what they saw as sexist comments by three prominent media figures regarding Sarah Palin:

With reports that Sen. John McCain had picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate, sexist commentary on cable news followed. On CNN, John Roberts raised the question of whether as vice president, Palin would be able to devote the time necessary to care for her baby with Down syndrome, and on MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd suggested that Sen. Joe Biden bears the burden of having to adjust his behavior in a vice-presidential debate because of Palin's sex.

In my view, I think Palin has many, many flaws that can be safely attacked without alienating any group. In her we probably have the least experienced candidate to the executive branch in the history of this nation. She's also anti-choice, pro-gun, etc.

2. Well, her and Zachary Taylor, but at least he had
some leadership experience as a career army man (but had never voted before he was elected president).

4. Don't listen to the media, she is being attacked for her few known stances
and the very real threat that she does NOT have the experience to deal with a nation that is in a state of crisis never before experienced to such an extent..they are using that for sympathy, dont let them, it can be talked about, should be talked about but its not up to the gop to constantly decide that playing sympathy for themselves is a sure fire way to win regardless of the truth that no sympathy is needed.....

7. I totally disagree. Here is why:
You should make conservatives explain how this fits with their socially conservative views. It is inconsistant with the stories that Republicans tell. What does Palin think should happen to be poor people with special needs children? Should the government help them? or should they pick themselves up by their own bootstraps? Why should fundie home schooling stay at home moms support a woman who talks like them, but does exactly the opposite, especially when she has a four month old that requires more attention and active parenting then most.

We have to raise this issue not because we necessarily believe it, it should be raised because it will discourage the republican base.

9. What does a debate with Joe Biden have anything to do with
her sex or her children? It's about the issues ffs.

If she can't debate on the issues, Biden has every right to cream her on them and, if she can't handle a debate about the ISSUES, then her sorry behind has no business being VP.

Good Lawd. They better not mess with our Joe!
